Thank you for letting us know what's going one with you. Hate to hear things have been so rough, though glad your type of illness is expected to respond to treatment.

There is a particular value to you sharing your story here. Once diagnosed with sleep apnea, it is easy to attribute all our extreme tiredness to sleep apnea while there could be something else going on. Often we read on here suggestions to be sure that thyroid dysfunction, anemia, diabetes, or other sleep disorders aren't an issue, but your case is an example of the extreme - and extremely unexpected. May someone who needed this message be motivated to dig further if they have optimized their therapy yet continue to experience inexplicable fatigue.

May the rest of your journey to wellness go as smoothly as possible. Good thing your body doesn't have to fight all this and be sleep and oxygen deprived. Best wishes.
Kathy

All the best for a speedy recovery.

(BTW, I think it is generally considered on the forum that the health of any member is on topic.)

Oh, Swoozy...ditto ditto ditto the above. What a rollercoaster ride; thanks for leeping us informed, wondered where you were! If you haven't tried the PapCap, now might be a good time . If you decide to go the wig route, I wish you the courage and sense of adventure to wear something outrageous and fun, one that makes ya laugh...laughter is healing. Watched a blurb on women & heart disease on last night's ABC evening news that says a few minutes of outright laughing is equivalent to 1 hour of exercise!

Great sleep and lots of laughs, Swoozy!

Thanks to all for the good wishes -- I believe they really help. I am currently on the rehab unit learning to walk and get my strength back. Because of the induced coma and the lung problems, I have been on massive steroids which have really done a number on my muscles. Add to that my ongoing, month long hospital stay and it's been a real fight to get my strength back!

I meet with the oncologist tomorrow for another bone marrow biopsy to see if the leukemia is in remission and at that time, I will learn what chemo plan he has in store for me. I do know that will be on some sort of chemo for about 2 years, but the maintenance chemo is milder and hopefully my hair will come back. Which really is the least of my worries, but the most visible sign (aside from my steroid induced moon face) that I'm sick.

The good to come from this is the knowledge that family and friends and co-workers have been so incredibly supportive. I went into the ER on the 13th of Jan and never went home and I have a cat who has advanced kidney disease and I have group from work who are taking turns giving her sub-q fluids and her meds. Your simple life suddenly becomes so much more complex when run from afar! But people are amazing in their willingness to help. Thanks again for all the good wishes!

Prayers and healing good wishes will be constantly sent for you. Isn't it wonderful to have great family and friends? You never realize how great until some emergency comes up and they step right up to help. Hope the rehab and the chemo go well and you get good reports.
