ResMed's new Swift FX?
Re: ResMed's new Swift FX?
I tried the Swift LT a week ago (4 days and I gave up, what at torture).
I found the Swift LT mades my sinuses burn all day long. The FX seems to me harder to stand than the LT, the air entrace is closer to the sinuses, the pastic over your face looks not good at all.
Good luck the braves who will try it!

Intriguing but I don't like the way the pillows are integrated as part of the unit. Seems like the tube would pull out.

I'm not a fan of nasal pillows. BUT - I like the looks of this Swift FX as being very promising. To me, less is better. I rather like the Swift LT for Her but wasn't crazy about that barrel laying under my nose on my top lip. And I DETESTED the original Swift w/that assinine side hose attachment!

I wasn't a big fan of pillows until i tried an Opus 360. I don't like the headgear on the Opus because it is too small for my head, but it does allow me to sleep better. I am due for a new mask in March and have started to research which mask I want next. I was looking at a Swift LT but I am interested in a Headrest as well. This new mask looks nice but in all honesty I don't think it would hold up as long. The crux of it being the way the pillows are incorporated into the unit. It was a nice try but I wouldn't lay out money for it yet.

I used the Swift II for a few months and then the Swift LT. I could never get past the mouth leaks. The chinstraps would give me a sore jaw. I resorted to taping a few times but that was a pain.
I finally switched to the Quattro and I am much happier.

My new DME has one of these on order for me. I use the LT for Her, and love it, this looks like it will feel even "less" like anything is on my face. I just wish they would figure out how to vent the things in some direction other than straight ahead, makes it difficult to sleep facing hubby.....I have to twist my head or he gets a facefull all night.

I have been using this mask for a few months - it doesn't seal as well as the Swift LT for me but i really like the mask.

Re: ResMed's new Swift FX?
I'm completely happy with the Swift FX. It took me a little while to get the adjustments right, but since then I have low leak rates and it no longer leaves a mark on my cheek each morning (I'd originally over-tightened it). I'd only used the Swift Mirage II previously and like the reduced size and simpler strap arrangement of the FX.

Re: ResMed's new Swift FX?
I just got the Swift FX. I am not used to it yet, but, it seems like it will be the one if you like pillow masks.
It is real soft on the face. The tube swivels to allow back and side sleeping on either side. The pillows put very little weight on your lips and leakage is minimal. The condensation is gone completely. Also, very quiet and, while light, feels sturdier than expected. No attaching the tube up the middle of your face or to one side. It easily moves into position.
The blower still blows straight out, so, facing a partner is still a problem.
The straps come with a nylon pad leave no marks. Mouth is getting a little dry, but, not too bad and natural humidity is occurring in the mouth area.
So far, it's way better than I expected.
I'll let you know if I find shortcomings in the next few weeks.

LOL!
I switched to Swift LT for about 10 days and it worked quite well for me. But last two nights decided to flip back to the Fx for the next week to ten days.Last night my wife decided to try a different solution to the huge throw pillow that acted as the wind barrier. She slept at the other end of the bed - said it was still blowing like crazy!
Re: ResMed's new Swift FX?
If you like nasal pillows but the exhaust is a problem you may want to consider the Aeiomed Headrest - the exhaust vents upwards above your head (parallel to your nose).
I'm very happy with the Headrest, but want to try the Swift FX as well to see how it feels - everyone seems to have positive things to say about them.

Re: ResMed's new Swift FX?
used the Swift FX for a week and went in to get a different mask. It was comfortable when you put it on and didn't have any problems with leaks. My issue was that it made the end of my nose raw - imagine how your nose feels when you have a bad cold and you have to blow your nose every 5 min. Went to the Mirage Vista and couldn't be happier.

I know this was an almost-year-old topic, but I came across it while looking up some topics about the ResMed Swift nasal pillows problems. I remember laughing a LOT during my first reading. Laughing again now. Couldn't resist giving it a little bump.jnk wrote:ozij wrote:viewtopic.php?p=405835#p405835Gil.Ben-Dov wrote:Hi Peppi,
