I agree with sleepingugly, I have a PR System One Pro and no siren noises from mine either. I barely notice the machine is running. The humifier design is the best in the industry, its the only one that monitors the outside air and adjust accordingly. I read a lot of complaints about rainout with almost every other design. I think System One has engineered rain out out of the design.
My DME of over ten years uses Respironics almost exclusively, so in the next few days I'm going to decide whether to choose the DeVilbiss or Resmed Autoset II and order on-line.

I have read really good things about either of these other machines also. It probably will come down to cost with you. Also I think people either really like Respironics or they dont like them. They do seem to be higher priced and probably the DMEs feel they have the corner on the market. Also we'll see what the costs of the new software and the functionality is. Right now, no full functional software is available.

Good question. I don't know the answer since I've only used the machine in APAP mode.

. . . I can relate to desiring the "steady whir" of the older machines. I have slept with a fan on, or some other "white noise" most of my life, so the new quiet of the PR System One is an adjustment.
Good point, thanks.

I take back what I said about not hearing the noise. I wonder if the noise that I was attributing to the mask is actually the machine? I did hear the buzzing/drilling sound last night, and had always heard it (I thought it was the mask). I am constantly trying to adjust my pillow to not press on my ear so that the noise won't be amplified. That stinks if it's the machine, as I'll never get away from it, even if I change masks.

The howling/buzzing/drilling seems better in C-flex+ mode.
