Phillips Respironics Remstar Pro/Auto
Phillips Respironics Remstar Pro/Auto
Just set my 12th patient on the Phillips Respironics Remstar (7 auto and 5 pro). I've asked my patients to give me feed back on there experience with these machines. 4 of these patients are 1st time users 8 are experienced hosers. So far I've received no negative feed back. The lack of software did come up with 2 of the experienced patients, but they said the lack of software was a minor issue compared with the overall approval of the machine. Most comments were how quiet the machine was (this was from my new patients) my experienced patients also commented on quietness but were more impressed with the humidifier not running out of water and being able to use a lower setting to achieve a comfortable level of humidity, and the ease of operation. My experienced patients were also impressed with the CFLEX+ feature. I'm not yet ready to proclaim this as the next big or best thing, I want to trial it myself (and I will when I get a used one in). I just thought it was noteworthy to have 100% satisfaction with the machine (Its a low sample volumn I know but still...) Especially with the lack of software. Just thought I'd throw out my .02 cents worth. Would like to here from others who have used the machine to see if this is a normal response. This info is for my benefit only...
Re: Phillips Respironics Remstar Pro/Auto
Do you mean the new PR System One machines?
It's confusing when you call it a "Remstar Pro/Auto". That leads most of us to think of the old "Tanks". Or even their last product line, the M Series machines.
I really wish Respironics would be more stable with their naming conventions. It's really hard for the end user to sort all these different product lines out. Maybe they could drop the "Remstar" from the product label?
Thanks for the report,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

This is an excellent idea. I have a good friend who uses the pro. I will get his feedback and give it to you if you'd like. I am sure that you've already given them the feedback that end user software is a necessity in the very near future--just hope they will listen.Just set my 12th patient on the Phillips Respironics Remstar (7 auto and 5 pro). Re: Phillips Respironics Remstar Pro/Auto
Thanks for this update. Please, keep it coming!
One other thing, can you tell me whether the power brick for this machine is permanently attached to the blower/humidifier? Or does it plug into it? Will the humidifer run on 12 vdc?

I'm workin' on it.
Re: Phillips Respironics Remstar Pro/Auto
The brick is NOT permanently attached. In fact, there is only one connection for the power cable into the back of the machine, then the humidifier feeds off the machine for power.
Thanks,
Phil
