Weather has been crummy here in eastern Virginia the last few days. Snow will be gone soon, but I am back to 30 minutes of fast walking in the morning.

CROWPAT,
I had a Porkchop and a salad, some brown rice for dinner just now. I also had 3 24oz cups of coffee. In a little while I will have some cookies and coffee as a snack. Maybe that's why I weight as much as I do.

CROWPAT,

Have been thinking more about your situation & have another suggestion (you may have already been doing this)

Can you get your hands on a blood pressure machine (at home we have several, wife & I each have a wrist unit + we have 1 armband unit).
These can be bought very inexpensively (we paid under $A40 for each of wrist units & about $A80 for the arm unit.) See below USA links for examples.

When you get up in the morning do a reading & save it. Then a couple of hours later when feeling 'tiredness' do another reading.

Am wondering if there is a possibility of low BP readings that may be indicative of some problem contributing to the tiredness ?
just one more avenue to explore & eliminate.

Cheers DSM

I don't think that is necessary. My BP stays very close to 120/80 whenever I check it at home or at a doctor's office. The highest ever recorded for me was 132/88. I sometimes check it during the day when my wife says her gauge is not working right. Always gives the right numbers for me so that gives her some confidence that it is right for her too. I will give your recommendation a try tomorrow just to see if anything shows up.
Last night was a good one with breathing on my own at 99.9% and AI of .4/AHI of .63. Periodic breathing of 0. Excercise and eating three meals has done nothing for the symptoms. I did change my settings for last night to 12/14-20 from 12/14-22, but average IPAP stayed at 15.7. We'll see what tonight brings.

As always, each possible thread being explored & good that you have that one covered and it seems
with a very good reading. 120/80 is spot on for you from what you have said. A good level.

Cheers

That is pretty good in some respects - perhaps the Diastolic could be a couple of points lower in daytime but ok (a bit of narrow gap between Systolic & Diastolic for daytime). The numbers reflect a low normal (apart from the daytime Diastolic). You are certainly not stressed in any obvious way

DSM

#2 Thought I should add this interpretation of those numbers - these are one view ) ...

Prehypertension:
* Top number is consistently 120 to 139 or the bottom number reads 80 to 89.

Stage 1: Mild high blood pressure:
* Top number is consistently 140 to 159 or the bottom number reads 90 to 99.

Stage 2: Moderate to severe high blood pressure:
* Top number is consistently 160 or over or the bottom number reads 100 or over.

Low blood pressure (hypotension):
* Top number reading lower than 90 or pressure 25 mmHg lower than usual

#3 - for any of us 'old timers (mid 60s plus) this info is useful ....
Blood vessels become less elastic with age. The "average" blood pressure increases from 120/70 to 150/90 and may persist slightly high even if treated. The blood vessels respond more slowly to a change in body position.

There was no detailed food log in the attachment, and as previously noted, I believe that information is absolutely critical in this discussion.

Breakfast was always an English muffin with Country Crock margarine. Lunch was a peanut butter and honey sandwich on wheat. Dinners, or course, varied. I received an oximeter, but it was not what I ordered. I'll have to straighten that out on Monday. I used the one I received and was surprises to find my pulse was in the low 60s while working at my computer. O sat was 93-97, occasionally going to 98.

Oximeter arrived and finally figured out how to use it - no instructions came with it. You will find last night's data and the oximetry report for that night at http://afsashoot.com/PAT11.html. The night had unusually low AHI, but I don't feel any different. Hope you all had a nice pair of holidays.

Last night's data looks pretty good, Pat. That anomalous SpO2 dip after hour six might be where motion-artifact adjustment didn't work out so smoothly.

Below are some downloadable user manuals:

Thanks for the link to the manuals. Wish they were in "real" english though.

Yeah, those Chinglish explanations can be a hemisphere less than perfect. And recording oximeters that come bundled with nice English explanations can be a hemisphere more expensive.

For what it's worth, I have one of each type and they seem to record SpO2 virtually the same.
