Not getting up in the morning!
Not getting up in the morning!
All of my alarm clocks will wake me up, but nothing keeps me up. I'm not really tired when the alarm goes off, it just feels sooooooo good to stay in bed. I'll even leave my mask on because it's oh so comfy! If I put the alarm far enough away that I have to get out of bed, I'll just cover my ears until it stops! LOL.
Any ideas?

Get a cat that stands on you until you get up... that's what works for me

My two just wake me up two hours before the alarm. I can't stay awake when the alarm goes off either.jmelby wrote:Get a cat that stands on you until you get up... that's what works for me

Re: Not getting up in the morning!
My son is hard to wake up so he sits his alarm clock on a pie tin so that when it goes off it rattles or vibrates the pie pan which in turn drives him nuts. Oh, the clock is in the other room so he has to get up and physically get to moving.

It sounds like your treatment is going well. I get the same feeling in the morning, but I just get up because I know I have to. If you can get up but don't want to, there is nothing besides you that will make you get up.

I know I need to, but my kids do so well when we have like 20 minutes before the bus comes, so I can't find more motivation! I may try something annoying, or find someone to call me (I used to be a wake up call for a few people).

It is the lack of those apnea fear stresses. No exhilarating rush first thing anymore!
I used to leap out of bed at 5:30 am with no problem - now not so much.

Hi SingleMom
When I have to absolutely get up, and know I am going to be tired and want to stay in bed I set my clock radio to turn at the time I want to get up. I set it very loud, and on a station I do not like.
I have to get up to turn it off.
This works for me
cheers

Re: Not getting up in the morning!
How about this for a motivator. If you get up on time and the kids are in bed, then you have that time to yourself to do what you need. Peace and quiet, we only get that when the kids are asleep or at school.

SingleMom, what time do you usually go to bed at night, and what time do you need to get up in the morning?

Re: Not getting up in the morning!
When I hit the point that my cpap therapy became successful and I started to feel better, I began sleeping a lot longer. I had nights that I would be in bed by 8pm and still wake up at my regular 5:30.

Re: Not getting up in the morning!
What works for me is putting the alarm clock on the other side of the room. And it is a very loud ring, and it rings forever until it finally shuts itself off. So I never can wait that long. Instead I get out of the bed and walk across the room to shut it off. By that time, I have the mask and machine off, and I am able to get ready to go.
Also maybe try keeping a glass of water by the bed and drinking it as soon as the alarm goes off. It might help perk you up a bit.
