FREE - Zzz-PAP CPAP **EDITED** PLEASE READ

Post by lusoman » Mon Dec 21, 2009 1:51 am

As restedgal suggests, I am going to handle this all myself. If you have a genuine need for this, then please PM me. No need to give me your address unless I let you know that I have chosen you to receive the machine.

Notes:
1. Offer only good in Lower 48. I pay ground shipping by UPS.
2. PLEASE be honest: if you don't NEED a free machine, then let it go to someone who does: you may be saving a life. If you abuse my trust, then you are really a lowlife. I have no way of enforcing this, but I do have a certain amount of faith in human nature.
3. To be considered, you must PM me before9 pm PST on Tuesday 12/22.
4. If I select you as the recipient, I will let you know by PM, and you must let me have the shipping address by 11am PST on Wednesday 12/23.

I would help, but I don't think I've been here long enough or have enough "street-cred" yet to be effective...

I'm guessing that people might be weary about this just because they dont understand your motives or why you are being so generous.

Dont get me wrong, I think its a wonderful thing you are doing, but I'm guessing people want to know why?

You're almost certainly right. This is just a random act of kindness on my part. I happen to be very fortunate, and want to help others less fortunate. Oh well, people can bid on it when it goes up for auction...

I forwarded this off list to Rested Gal, and didn't get a reply. I suspect she might be offline due to the holidays.

This is a great offer, but I don't know this man personally, and I'm not willing to put myself forward as the intermediary for a machine I can't personally smell and fondle. I'm just that way about machines. Masks can usually be cleaned, but machines can't.

I don't suspect you sir, I just can't take this on. I hope you do find someone willing to help!!!

Cheers,
B.

I really hope you find someone willing to do this as it may have a tremendous impact on someone that maybe unable to afford a machine.

How would one establish that the receipent really has OSA and is not going to turn around and try to "make money" on it?
Would a prescription be required with the set pressure? Who would set the pressure?
Start Date: 8/30/2007 Pressure 9 - 15

lusoman, I didn't read this thread until another member brought it to my attention. I think it's wonderfully generous of you to be offering that CPAP with humidifier. You're a good person.

I really appreciate your confidence (it's not misplaced) but I'd rather not be a middleman. I think it would be better if you handled the whole thing yourself...let those who read this thread and are in need PM you directly. I have every confidence that you'll do exactly as you've said.

I understand entirely. and apologise for not asking you before making the suggestion.

Anyway, I will take your suggestion: I'm going back to edit my original post to say that people can PM me, and I will handle it all myself.

Sleepycarol, in answer to your questions, I can't be certain that it won't end up with someone who doesn't have a need, and who just wants to make a profit: I just have to have faith that people are going to be honest about it.
