Just my observations:
It is great to see the replies generated by the original post.
The replies give an accurate picture of who we are.
Whether the original post was a troll or a genuine concern doesn't matter.
I have successfully transitioned from the CPAP to a dental device.
But I have not posted the details in the forum yet (I will).
That is part of the answer to the original concern.
When I was a CPAP patient I posted regularly.
Now I am not a CPAP patient and don't post a lot to the CPAP forum.
So we have a lot of support for CPAP and not a lot of talk of alternative solutions.
I don't see a problem with that. That's why you don't hear a lot about Hondas in the Toyota forum.

Having been here for a few weeks now, I have read many many posts by those that have had some of the surgery "solutions" and even after their surgeries they're back on xPAP. Reason?? The surgeries only work some of the time and generally only marginally. Even after all the healing, and perceived improvement, most have returned to the "Gold Standard".....
But some medical folks have laughed all the way to the bank. A surgeon will recommend surgery - it's how he makes his MB payments each month.
There are some surgical procedures that can improve the condition and perhaps reduce xPAP pressure requirements. Perhaps I've missed something, but I don't see our new friend aviator202 coming with any positive suggestions -- only suppositions based on misinterpretation or selective perception. There are plenty of surgical references in the archives, one only needs to look for them.
Why any intelligent person would opt for any invasive procedure that has at best a 25% chance of success, or even only a 50% chance of success is beyond me.
The surgical options were all explained to me at diagnosis, along with the reasonable chances of success.
