With tastes like that, you could use some good advice: Keep your identity secret.scrapper wrote:Rooster.........

What a puss. I'd be more pissed about the lack of oxygen, and the harm that would do, than a little boo boo to the wrist! He probably forgot to take his mask off and tripped over the hose...

Re: Sleep Apnea Causes Wrist Injury
I can't believe a hotel would not warn their customers they planned to turn off the power!!! When I go downtown for dragon*con and check into the Hyatt, I always discuss my use of xPAP at night with the front desk staff and checkout the power receptacles near the bed first thing to ensure they are working. My power outage alarm goes with me as does my surge protector strip and a damned flashlight...what an dumbass not to have one...emergenies don't happen to him? I keep one of those 1 LED keychain lights near my APAP to check pressure if I wake up and anything I need light for.
EDIT: sorry for the "dumbass" but it just makes sense to me to find out where the exits are and how to get there on my hands and knees leading any roommates (at the Hyatt, it's my legally-blind diabetic friend). I check out the balcony. I check out where the service elevator is. I count steps and doors to navigate. Too much? Maybe, but I bet my and my friend's chances of surviving an emergency are much higher this way. Emergencies happen and we can't predict where or when. Being prepared just makes sense to me, it just takes a few minutes and a bit of prior planning...a la the 6 Ps "prior planning prevents piss poor performance"

Re: Sleep Apnea Causes Wrist Injury
Well I guess I'll line up in the dumbass line then. That seems like a pretty judgmental thing to say. I've stayed at hotels probably about 8 nights since I started CPAP and I've NEVER packed a flashlight to take with me. I've never discussed my machine with the hotel staff. I have, however, made sure the bedside outlets worked!
I hope this guy wins--they should have told him!

I haven't been on the board in awhile. I was looking for a post by Rooster so I could ask.
I was wondering about the didgeridoo. Did you ever make it?

Re: Sleep Apnea Causes Wrist Injury
I stay in hotels an average of 1 week a month with my CPAP, and I haven't had the power go out since starting treatment. I have however had the power go out twice in the past year prior to starting treatment, and I do understand it can be disorienting to wake up without power in the room.rubymom wrote:Well I guess I'll line up in the dumbass line then. Honestly they probably should have mentioned to their customers that they were shutting down power to their guest room, if nothing else so that they are aware that the cheap clocks that the hotel provides will be blinking in the morning instead of sounding off at 6am.
However, if he stumbled around and injured himself it is his fault for not taking a more cautious approach to moving around in a dark room instead of blundering around and injuring himself. "Take some responsibility for your actions and don't blame others for your mistakes." that is my feelings on the guys problem and my feelings in general on most lawsuits these days.
Re: Sleep Apnea Causes Wrist Injury
We ended up with a longterm house guest that I did not want to disturb, so I just blew the idea off. (My wife wasn't too happy about the idea either.)OCNorsk wrote: Since we are being a bit out there on this one...
