The new Goodnight H20 Heated Humidfier

Post by imacpappro » Mon Jan 10, 2005 10:24 pm

Hello All,

Take a look at:

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/1538

Nice and small like the cpap. Actually smaller, even the chamber. Looks good to me. What do you think?

Hi ICP,

Since this forum has been characterized as disproportionatly supportive of the PB420's this one should be popular around here. Do you know what the capacity of the chamber is, say compared to the F&P HC150? Also is it going to be listed as a separate item at cpap.com? If so what's the cost?
Sincerely,

Why, I think it looks cute as a bug's ear!

Actually, I think this one looks even cuter:

I think it is really cool. Did anyone notice that the water tank goes up under the cpap? The tank hold more water than it looks.

I think it is a great deal. It is the same price as the Respironics Remstar Plus with heated humdifier, both at the $550 mark.

This is a full featured cpap with auto altitude adjustment and battery capability.

Many people use this machine for travel, but it is a great machine for at home as well. Small is in... I guess I now have to go on a diet.. lol

Curious about a few things that I can't see even in a blown-up picture:

Where is the control located to turn the humidifier on/off?

How do you adjust the heat up/down? Is the heat adjustment a knob, slider, button that has to be pressed, or what? If so, where is it located?

Hi Rested Gal,

The on/off switch is on the back of the humdifier, along with the tempurature dial. It has the same type of controls that the HC-150 heated humdifier.

Hi Ted,

I had read and confirmed a while back that the humidifier will share the same power supply as the 420X. Is this still true and seeing as they put the power switch for the humidifier on the back does the power button for the machine also control the humidifier ?

Hello Wader,

No they do not share the same power supply. The cpap and humidifer both plug into the wall and both ave thier own on/off power switch(button).

Hey Regis, Is that your final answer? Below is where I got my info. Is PB going to include one of those dentist mirrors to find the switch on the back of the machine?

Thanks for the info...can't wait to get one...maybe

Thanks Wader,

We were under the impression it would use only one power cord for both machine and humidifier. I corrected the link you listed, we had assumed on information we were given. It would have been nice, but it still so small, some things are easier to accept.

Thanks ICP,

A seperately controled unit does have the benefit of allowing preheating of the water. Putting the on/off button on the front would have been nice though (or even an indicator light).

Thanks, Ted. I'm glad to hear the humidifier has a heat adjustment dial and an on/off switch. Too bad they didn't put those controls on the front instead of the rear. Oh well, the machine is small enough... I guess I'd just keep the whole set up turned sideways so I could reach the heat knob easily. Certainly sounds better than the steps involved for me to try to turn the heat up or down a bit with Remstar's integrated humidifier....having to turn on a light, get up, put on glasses, punch buttons, squint at numbers in a panel, re-punch buttons if I go past the setting I want, etc. At least PB opted for a much more sensible dial knob, even if they put it in a less than user friendly location.

One of the nicest things about using an F&P separate HC150 humidifier - switch and dial are in front. Easy to reach down in the dark and turn it up or down a little during the night.

Number of power cords doesn't make much difference to me, but ease in making heat adjustments in the dark does. Wonder if any designers actually use cpap?

Luckily, since I've been using the Aussie heated hose along with my heated humidifier, I haven't had a need to change the humidifier's setting any more.

What is the availability of the humidifier as a stand alone and what will the price be?
