Mouth leak
Mouth leak
I'm getting a little mouth leakage when my pressure ramps up using my nasal mask. It's not quite sealing. Does anyone know of any tricks to hold the tongue up a litle bit more in my mouth and get a good seal? Thanks.
Re: Mouth leak
Sounds like you need a chinstrap, FF mask or......tape your lips shut.

Re: Mouth leak
Could you hold a paperweight in your hand and not drop it when you fall asleep?
If you can't, then you can't hold your tongue in position while asleep.
Get a full face mask.

I did pickup a Respironics face mask today. I don't seem to be able to breathe through it. Sorry if these are dumb questions.

Which model mask did you get? What are your pressure settings?

Re: Mouth leak
I found a product called "Chin-up strips" that you can get at drugstore.com. They're like a wide U shape and go under your mouth and up you cheek. They work great for me. They hold my mouth shut completely all night and I don't have the fear I have with taping over my mouth. The adhesive works great. I get the tan ones. When I've run out, I've used hypoallergenic barrier tape that you can get at any drugstore and made my own wide U. If you go to drugstore.com, you can see the picture there and have a better idea of what I'm talking about. BTW, I've found that the tan ones are the best.
Re: Mouth leak
Kemosabe....If you are using a Quattro FF mask, why do you need tape or chin up strips?
