OT--Happy Veteran's Day

Post by Autopapdude » Wed Nov 11, 2009 7:55 am

I want to take this opportunity to remember all of the men and women who have served our country throughout the years. As a veteran myself, I want to offer my congratulations to all my fellow individuals who have served this country, and have done their best to keep it out of harm's way. Please do not politicize this thread--I don't agree with some of the war rationale, but I love and support the people who fight in them. This is a day for unity, not polarization, so if one chooses to offer their "job well done," please keep it non-partisan.

I too want to express my gratitude and tremendous appreciation for all the men and women that serve our military and the Veterans that have made this the greatest country to ever exist. I was not fortunate to serve or be a veteran, but I do have two important veterans in my family that I will be calling today: my Dad and Father-in-law!

To those on this forum that serve our military or have served….Happy Veterans Day and THANK YOU!

To our many veterans...thank you for your service!

I will taking a veteran to dinner tonight...Applebee's is serving veterans for free! (and no...I do not have any connection to Applebee's...just saw the commercial and thought it was a nice gesture!)

Thanks to all that remember Veterans on this day. From a veteran to all the other veterans, you stood up, did what had to be done, and we are still free and living a good life because of your service.

Thanks to all my brothers-in-arms (and sisters, too!)

Let us also remember our shipmates who gave the last full measure, and those in harm's way today.

How many noticed the spiffy Veterans Day logo up on top today?

Perhaps it was just our local KK. A list of offers was circulated here on base. Didn't say whether any of them were local or national.

No worries, I 814U...
