Re: Nightstand for my CPAP
Well......I feel so good this AM from assisted sleep from my cpap stored on my $9.00 WalMart tv tray which I used in my non million dollar home so I just have to say something.
It appears to my sight alignment that the stand on the right has a lean to the right or maybe the floor joist, in that nice house, has been eaten by termites which causes the lean or my plastic storage case has weakened on the right side causing my monitor to lean. If it's the latter I'll make a note to myself to stop by WalMart when I get to the big city to get a new stand for my monitor.
Someone let me know if I need to go the VA and get another eye exam.
Fred

I like the looks of the one with the drawers, but I wonder if I can get one that leans to the left, not the right?

Re: Nightstand for my CPAP
One Major problem with the NIGHTSTAND is you will be inhaling all the CHEMICALS of the of the STAIN, VARNISH, and what ever WOOD that its made from. Stick your head deep in the NIGHTSTAND and take a wiff thats whats going into your lungs. The FILTER on your CPAP MACHINE will not filter out the CHEMICALS just DUST. I think that is a real COOL product, but people with any ALLERGIES, ASTHMA, COPD would have a real problem with this NIGHTSTAND. Good luck
Re: Nightstand for my CPAP
I wouldn't worry about breathing in fumes from stains. The cabinet I have once dryed has no fumes that you can smell. If you think about it go smell your dining room table. Im sure it is stained but once its dryed, no fumes are given off from a stain.
I agree this cabinet is not for everyone. Some will say it is too expensive or they have another solution. Im not here to argue. Too each his own opinion. I'm just expressing mine.

It looks like a nice piece of furniture. My machine resides on a classy card board box next to my night stand. Ill get around to something more permanent some day.

My 'stand' is an unfinished pine board on a pair of shelf brackets. Built with love by my sweetie.

My bedside table is one of those old tables with two shelves which then have the long skinny legs between the two shelves. One step up from the cinderblock and board from Lowe's most of us used when we were younger and broke. It would have matched the spool coffee table quite well.

Here's another site that also offers CPAP nightstands. They also do customization of them:

Re: Nightstand for my CPAP
I also found a CPAP stand that works very well under cpapstands.
Just thought you maybe interested?

Re: Nightstand for my CPAP
Several months ago I visited the Gamble House in Pasadena, CA, a wonderful example of Greene and Greene Craftsman architecture from 1908 http://www.gamblehouse.org/. The house is filled with all kinds of great structural and architectural design doo-dads that cause the weekend wood-butcher in me to become mildly aroused. Predictably, the geek in me decided I had to build a CPAP nightstand. So I sat down at the computer and figured out how I'd build my own dedicated CPAP nightstand using design elements that the Brothers Greene employed. Life and better sense interveined, though, and the wood I procured for the cabinet remains stacked in the shop and the plans remain just that, for now at least.

However, something that just about anyone can do, or have done by a cabinet shop, is to modify the drawer front in an existing nightstand. Simply remove the drawer front and re-install it using a pair of butler tray hinges. http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/200194 ... luded.aspx That way the CPAP machine can reside in the drawer. When you want to use it, you pull the drawer open, flip the drawer front down and you have access to your machine with hose and mask. The drawer still slides in and out so you can either pull the drawer out when you want to use your machine, or just leave it in place and flip down the front. That should address some people's concern about fumes and ventilation.

Re: Nightstand for my CPAP
Interesting idea. I was thinking about making a pair of matching nightstands, one for my CPAP, and the other just a standard night stand for the other side of the bed.Slartybartfast wrote:Several months ago I visited the Gamble House in Pasadena, CA, a wonderful example of Greene and Greene Craftsman architecture dating from 1908 http://www.gamblehouse.org/. My requirements are to store the CPAP itself with any accessories, most notably distilled water container. I don't want to have to connect the hose to the cpap every night, so I'd want a system that allows me to easily hide everything while the mask and hose are connected to the machine.
I was originally thinking that the hose would come out the back of the night stand, rather than the front, so it could more easily get up an over my headboard. This led me to the idea of having a rear door with some kind of hanger hook for the mask and hose. I would probably line the inside with some kind of noise dampening material, it would really suck if the interior resonated with the sounds of the PAP. And because I don't like wires, I'd probably mount some kind of power strip in there to connect my CPAP, Zeo, and phone charger to. Although, may be mounted on the rear someplace.
CPAP for the rest of your life.
