cpap is working

Post by Spirit » Mon Nov 02, 2009 11:52 am

Hi everyone,
I haven't been on in awhile. But would like to share some good news, I began cpap treatment Aug 6, 09. I was frustrated, disappointed, angry and going through lots of adjustments, and lost all hope cpap was not working and nearly gave up, but with the help of wonderful folks at the forum, I was persistent and continued with my treatment.

2 weeks ago, I reached a turning point in my treatment, I sleep solid with no disturbance, waking up feeling not nearly as tired, I am way more active, and do not feel I have to take naps all day long, I can think clearly, my vision is clearing up, I just don't feel like a zombie anymore !!!! I went from 1 hour of activity to a full day, 7-8 hours.

My sleep pattern reversed, I am sleeping during the night and waking in the mornings, no more insomnia !!! Now I am active through out the day, it's a wonderful feeling.

Visit my sleep doc friday, and he reviewed my data, and said average events, since I began treatment is 3 per hour, which is very good, he bumped my pressure frm 8cm to 9cm and said, I should feel even more better in a few weeks, sleep doc shared I am doing really well, treatments take up to 6 months, to feel full benefit. My doc approved my disability.

Also he stated my enlarged thyroid, could be contributing to the HI's,. So he scheduled a 2nd opinion with another Endo. He believes it's large enough to obstruct my airway.

So for those of you, that felt the way I did, don't give up hope. Sleep well !!

So glad to hear your good report. I can now put away the voodoo doll with your name on it.

You are actually doing better than me now and I am envious. Good job.

Spirit, I'm happy for you! I remember how discouraged you were. Great to hear you're doing well...I was wondering. Good luck on the enlarged thyroid issue.

Congratulations Spirit! You started a couple of week before me - I am going to a new doctor who actually reads data on the 18th (the one who prescribed my equipment doesn't ) and I hope I get news as good as yours.

GOOD FOR YOU. I FELT THE SME WAY. I FOUGHT USING THE MACHINE FOR YEARS. AS I BECAME OLDER I REALIZED I WOULD DIE IF I DID NOT GET USE TO MY MACHINE. MY WIFE HATED THE LOOKS OF THE BEDROOM. WE DECIDED TO MAKE A NIGHTSTAND THAT WOULD KEEP THE MACHINE HIDDEN AND MAKE IT EASIER TO USE. PLEASE VISIT YAHOO SEARCCH FOR http://www.cpaphideaway.com and tell your friends about out nightstands.

Give it a rest Jay. You have now crossed the line to spamming. Actually you crossed it earlier in SleepGuy's thread about the death of his friend. Poor taste on your part and your lovely night stands get overshadowed by your lack of sensitivity. You will lose any business you might have gained here with such tactics.

Good to hear from you and to hear how well you are doing. It certainly wasn't without some struggles and desperation. What an inspiration to others reading here that things can turn around if we persevere.
