OT - Have I found Elg5cats Koko

Hi Elg5cats and All

I too think I know a cat when I see one, it is not seeing one that has been the problem here.

Elg5cats threw out a challenge - to find her beloved cat Koko - and I think I have done so.

After many hours of different hues, sizes, shades, contrasts, lighting, blue/red, upside down, inverted, shaken and stirred, and looking through 10,000 pictures of cats, I have come up with the following. During all this my copy of ThumbsPlus and Photoshop 5.5 broke down under the workload, and I saw steam coming from my computer.

So what do I think is the answer?

I think we are looking at the backside of Koko as she burrows under the blanket, her head is already under.

Am I right ? My whole reputation as a recovering brain damaged cat lover is at stake here. What is the answer?

Only Elg5cats can tell us whether I have got it right or wrong. What will she say? Maybe I have got it wrong. I await her response in an agony of trepidation.

Please Elg5cats - put me out of my misery.

Yes or No.

cheers

Uh Oh, Mars, how do you explain that pair of yellow eyes in the brown mask?

Look closer, it is a head shot of what appears to be a long haired kitty, probably Himalayan or Siamese type. Only parts of her face are seen because of surrounding material from the bedding. She does appear to have a regal look to her. I suspect she was Queen. She is beautiful. I know she was loved and sorely missed. Been there, done that and about to do it again..

Hi Pugsy

I don't think they are eyes, and the head would be be the wrong shape if they were. I think that is what has fooled us all, all this time.

But I could be wrong. I remember now, I was wrong once, back in 1987 I think it was, but that wasn't over a cat.

We will now both wait for an answer from Elg5cats

cheers

I think part of the head is covered with lace or some sort of material. I see 2 yellow eyes, the brown tip of one ear and what appears to be the brown tips of 2 front paws.

So I guess we await the verdict....

Oh Mars, I don't think I can put you out of your misery, but you may have put me out of mine. I think I may never recover from the coughing fit my laughter at your post sent me into. There's still hope for you as a recovering brain damaged cat lover........solving puzzles are a great activity for brain injuries......so, I'll send you back to the photo to find KoKo...I know you will find her....When I look at the photo I see her clearly, not so for most others, I have discovered. KoKo loved licking postage stamps back in the day....so she is featured on her very own postage stamp as a memorial moment.....I now question if anyone who receives a KoKo stamp on the mail sees KoKo at all!!!! I may have discovered why I've never received one comment about the stamp...lol.......you go back to my avatar, solicit some help and later I'll see if I can post an enlarged link to the photo clears the findings!!!!! Maybe should have been an OT Poll!!!!!

Ahh, they look yellow to me, could be the light, could be my computer color settings. She is beautiful.

I need to get some pictures of our zoo here. Cats, dogs and ferrets. I have no life....wouldn't have it any other way.

In all fairness, the blue doesn't show up greatly in the picture and cat eyes are not the easiest to photograph. You have ferrets, I think there will be one in my future..not soon, but one day!!!!!

We have 2 ferrets, 3 cats, 6 dogs (2 are outside dogs but big babies during storms). One of the cats loves to get in the ferret cage during cleaning and play and eat ferret food.. but then she eats anything.

I had a Siamese that lived to be 19. Two of our cats now are rescue kitties. One has 6 toes on her paws. One had fallen out of a tree when she was just a baby and was blind for a few days. The ferrets belong to my niece. They are interesting little creatures. The local vet gives us a volume discount

I think the topic of your avatar came up several months ago, and I had to get right up on my computer and stare then suddenly I could see it clearly. Reminded me of those 3d pictures that were so popular about 15 years ago, where if one stared long enough and just right you could make out the hidden image.

Beautiful kitty!

Hi Elg5cats

And I thought I was being so clever.

Ever since 1987 I figured I would get something else wrong, but I never thought it would be about a cat.

So I will pick myself up, dust myself off, install my new copies of ThumbsPlus and Photoshop, and look again.

By the way, my two cats have been observing all this, and they are disgusted with my show of ignorance
But they are keeping silent about what they see

OK - give everybody a little more time, and lets see what we can come up with.

Or perhaps you just need to give me more time.

cheers

Hi Elg5cats and All

OK - I now think I can see Koko.

The two white blobs on either side of the head are ears. She is facing towards us, and her nose is touching the rug. Her body is not under the rug, but goes back towards the top of the picture.

To love a cat, and be loved by a cat, is a precious thing. Maybe we need a permanent OT thread to talk about our wonderful cats, and dogs, and other animals that love us and trust us.

cheers

Me too, Kathy. When elg5cats first started using her avatar, it took me several days to figure out what I was looking at. Sweet Koko peeking out.

I'm BUSTED Rested gal, you won the prized!!!!!! 100% correct, and should I be surprised. Not at all!!!! You have "uncovered" my KoKo....and the mystery!!!!! In the photo, KoKo a sealpoint Himalyan, is peering out from under her 15 year old baby blanket. The blanket has ragged ends creating holes...which must creat an illusion effect for some looking at the photo. I love it, you did a fantatic job Rested gal. When I look at the picture, I always see exactly what rested gal outlined in her second shot. I wish I could see what others see when they miss seeing KoKo. This has been fun!!!! Thanks for enjoying my KoKo with me!!!!!
