This was posted at sleepguide after a recommendation to check into this forum too:
BTW, I along with others cannot log into the cpap forum because the Captcha that we're supposed to copy never appears. Only a red X appears I know other folks have the same problem.)

Howdy Slinky,

I've not heard of a red X appearing instead of a captcha. I've ticketed Trinh and he'll be in contact with you.

To all: any screenshots would be helpful. Bonus points for telling me what operating system, browser and version you are running when you see this.

Seem like they already have a login and tried to log in. This should be related to their old cookies stored on their pc which is needed to be clear in order for the new one to be set. Clearing the cookie from the browser should help, please refer to topic: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43805

I've been battling the log-in issue for some weeks.

I used to have it set to log me in automatically with each visit, but that quit working.

Now I have to use Cookie Culler to delete all CPAPTalk, CPAP.COM, and CPAPAuction cookies in order to be able to log in whenever I visit.

I have tried both "Log me in each time" and leaving it unchecked. Doesn't matter. I must delete all CPAPTalk, CPAP.COM, and CPAPAuction cookies and then log in again whenever I visit.

I am using freshly updated Windows XP Pro, and Firefox 3.5.3.

Interesting. I don't know what the difference could be, since I almost never have a log-in issue. I have mine set to log me in automatically, which it does.

I also am using Windows XP Pro, kept updated. Am also using Firefox 3.5.3

I never dump cookies except perhaps once a year. Sound like the way I treat my humidifier, doesn't it?

I use Firefox 3.5.4 and was frustrated for a while when all my sites stopped logging me in, etc. What I finally found is the Private Browsing option was set on which blocks all cookie usage and updating. Turned that off and deleted all cpap.com cookies and all is well once again.

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

I have a similar problem as Kiralynx. Not able to login via FireFox 3.5.3 under XP. Delete cookies works only per session. I just found the work around, use Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) instead of FireFox. IE 8 works fine with cpaptalk.com forum, no need to delete cookies or do anything.

So now I use IE 8 for cpaptalk.com & Firefox for other websites .

Well, I had an issue with CPAPAuction awhile back that was solved by updating Firefox to the current version.

I also had a log in issue back with the Great Log In Fiasco when lots of people couldn't get in. All cookies had to be dumped in order to get in.

But after that, up until a couple weeks ago, the "log in at each visit" has worked perfectly. Now it isn't.

About the humidifier... uhm, well.... mine gets carefully cleaned and dried whenever we're traveling anywhere. Other than that, it's distilled water refills.

I get the no captcha unable to log in problem with IE, latest version. Had the problem ever since the problems with logging in the forum had, a month or so ago. Doesnt matter which computer I use (work, laptop, or home desktop). Tried clearing everything, going thru all the steps in one of the stickies. No go.

I can log in with the latest firefox no problem. But unable to have firefox on our work computer so not able to sneak and check out the forum
