Sudden "relapse" ?

Post by dkdc » Mon Oct 19, 2009 4:53 pm

I wonder if this happens to others. Over the weekend I was feeling pretty energetic. One night I got only about 7 hours of sleep and the other about 8.5 hours of sleep.

Then today I feel really lethargic. I had about 7.25 hours of sleep and I did 20 minutes on the bicycle around 2pm but still felt blah. I wonder if I was too energetic over the weekend?

Is there anything to my observations that is really connected to Sleep apnea - or is it just my odd body acting odd again? I know chronic fatigue folks sometimes mention strange ebbs and flows of energy - of overdoing it and then relapsing. But I don't fit that profile.

Before you got OSA and you had a weekend like that did you feel tired?

Strangly before I had OSA if I spent a weekend double digging over the entire vegetable garden and partying at night I would feel tired for several days afterwards.

Hi,

I'll have a night about every 2 weeks or so where I wake up less than totally chipper the next day. And every so often, I'll have a night were nothing seems to work for me despite not doing anything different. I do notice that if I have a really good night and get a lot of sleep, I'll sleep much less the next night, and sometimes get tired a little earlier.

Even my worst days today are far, far better than my best days were 18 months ago.

I haven't looked at it today but the machine said it was a decent night - AHI under 10 which is one of my better nights. Low leak.

Yes, I suppose so - but I probably wouldn't have done so much before cpap cause I would be feeling too tired to begin with.

I think I did remember two things that were different from the weekend - it stopped raining yesterday, and I tried a new pillow last night.

I don't like the pillow (buckwheat hull pillow) but I think the bigger issue is it is now cold in washington, dc and so it is dry inside and dryness affects me a lot - saps my energy (a sinus thing, I think). So, over the weekend it rained a lot and that gave us humidity. Today no rain - no humidity.

So, I fired up my humidifiers.

Mystery solved? We shall see. Thanks for all the responses - you are all very kind.
