Any RemStar Pro M Series user out there?

Post by applesseed » Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:25 pm

I just received the RemStar Pro M Series w/ C-Flex about 2 hours ago. Wondering if any experienced users can shed a few light for me as I couldn't find the answer online nor in the user manual.

(1) The Internet vendor that I purchased the CPAP machine had enabled C-Flex. This is my first time using it so I have no experience what to expect. As a patient user, can I disable C-Flex on my own in case it doesn't work for me?

(2) The Internet vendor enabled the ramp feature which I like. However, can the ramp feature automatically enable once I turn on the start of the therapy? My old CPAP machine (which I have to return to the healthcare provider), a Resmed Tango C-Series allows me to start the therapy on ramp and gradually goes to my prescribed pressure. I find that it may be a two step process from now on to use the RemStar - first to turn on the unit, and then the ramp button. Can it be done to automatically start the therapy on ramp mode by pressing the start button?

Thanks in advance.

Here's a light for you - There are many different M Series models and they ALL look the same. Look on the top of your machine for white letters with the model name (write it down as the memory is OSA people does not work up to par).

The machine will auto start if you don't have any significant leaks up to your mask. This feature cannot be turn off. Ramp must press the Ramp button - so try it w/o pressing the Ramp, you may not need it. So it really depends on how your machine was set up.

What's the big secret about the "Internet Vendor"?

Yes you can disable C-Flex if you want to. You have to go into the set-up menu in order to disable it. It can be changed from 1, 2 or 3 simply by pressing the + button and push the on (center button to save the setting). If you got it from a internet provider you should have gotten the Provider manual with it which will tell you how to get to the set-up menu. If you don't have the Provider manual you can PM me your e-mail address and I can send you a copy in PDF format.

Tostart the machine with the ramp feature just push the ramp button (Lt Button) rather than the on (Center) button. It will gradually go to your set pressure depending on how long it is set to run. It also can be changed in the Set-up menu. You can set the starting pressure and how long it takes to get to your pressure.

GumbyCT - Top of the machine with white letters says: REMstar Pro (undearneath it says, M Series). Flipping over to the underside of the unit says model number: 400M. Here's the link http://remstarpromseries.respironics.com/

6PtStar - By pressing the Ramp button (left button), the unit doesn't turn on.

I think I needed to clarify the ramp issue. It isn't much of a big deal, but I just wanted to know if it's possible to simply have the unit go to ramp mode the second that I turn on the unit.

Here's how my old Resmed C-Tango Series works: By pressing the ON button, it goes into ramp directly.

Can the REMstar Pro go into ramp the instant second that I push the ON button?

Call me lazy since I would now have to press the ON button... wait for it to blow air... and then press ramp button.

I always use the ramp feature. I can't sleep going into the prescribed setting directly... too strong at the beginning.

No.

Nah, I wouldn't call that lazy. You'd just like to be able to set it for the way you want it to come on. With the ramp automatically coming on when the machine starts. There's no way to have it do that, though.

I'm sorry, you are right. I have not used the ramp feature in almost 3 years and I was working from memory. You do have to turn it on and then go to ramp. Center button then left button to get to ramp. You can not go to ramp directly!
