Alcohol and CPAP

Does having a couple of glasses of wine before you go to bed and put on CPAP equipment help you sleep better or interfere with your sleep?

BAD idea! Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant and the CNS controls breathing. Plus, alcohol relaxes all the muscles in your airways making them more likely to collapse causing hypops and apneas...not something you want happening when you sleep...we with apnea have enough collapsing airway 'stuff'.
