T/F Poll: Handwashing headgear helps maintain elasticity

Hand wash and air dry every two weeks, my head gear on all my mask, except for my one month old FullLife head gear, are at least three years old and still usable.

I just say NO to neoprene.

I use a full headgear PapcapII.

The original headgear that came my masks will probably
last a long time and will never need washing.
I did not vote. I have no experience w/this.

I think the choice of detergent is more detrimental to the life of elastic than the temperature of the water.

I wash my headgear/chinstrap in a lingerie bag in my regular wash. Usually warm, sometimes hot water. I always use gentle natural soaps, sometimes they are hand made by me. I always line dry, never put it in the dryer.

Get rid of the phosphate detergents and you'll be surprised how much longer all of your clothes last.

I wash my papcap every few weeks.
I use Dr. Bronner's almond, hand wash in warm water, rinse same.
Air dry on towel rack in the bathroom.

I don't know how long a cap will last.
The one I have now has been in nightly use for ~10mths.
It looks like brand new. I'm guessing a few years.

I thought the velcro on the straps would wear out, but w/the quick release
clips I seldom make adjustments using the velcro....... so....yea, a few years.....
maybe as long as a machine????
