How blue is the sky?

We could do with so blue skies here too.

They have been shading to dirty brown for the last week or 2 and I am having a big problem with breathing.
It is hard to get on a bike if you feel like someone has their hands around your neck.

You bring tears to my eyes c-man. I am as happy for this milestone in your recovery as I am sad to realize how unreachable your current place seems to be to me right now...2 yrs and still I struggle. But, resigned as I feel today, I will continue plodding in my treatment in the hope that one day I too will feel as great as you. I am so grateful you share with us; it inspires hope. Thank you.

CM, I know you're a convert to Resmed but can you tell me what differences you found between the Respironics and Resmed. You can always start a a lively discussion and I'd like to hear from someone who has used both. If I remember you were getting good results with the MSeries too so why is your new machine better? Dori PS: The skies over NJ are not even close to your blue sky.

You can always start a a lively discussion and I'd like to hear from someone who has used both. If I remember you were getting good results with the MSeries too so why is your new machine better? Strangely, the sky was blue and the air cooler & less humid here in FL today. I guess Bill was sucking all the moisture north, shame he didn't take some bugs too.. Had a good day myself for a change, there is hope...

i just want to congratulate you also for the moustache. i, too, have, as they say in espaniol, "el bigote grande". not as awesome as yours, but large enough to have earned it's own reputation as a seperate entity. i was really worried that i would have to lose the 'stache in order to use the mask - a sacrifice i was prepared to make in the pursuit of better health. but, i'm told by my wife and everyone around me that i am not permitted to shave it off - ever.

so, thank you for showing us that, yes... one can successfully use cpap with or without the handelbars!

Dori, I'm trying to figure out how to compare these two machines.
I think I have a way to start but need some computer time to get the post ready.
Yes, I did get very good result w/the Mseries system.
I have an idea about what is happening.
More to come.

Thanks! I did have to loose the handlebars.
It was a small sacrifice for the benefits gained.

We live in the Blue Mountains just west of Sydney in Australia. The blue mountains is a city within a national park, so there is a lot of bushland to explore on a mountain bike. The mountains are probably not what you would think of as mountains - the highest point is around 1100m, but that's high for these parts. There is some really scenic terrain though - with some great canyons and cliffs etc.

I currently own two mountain bikes and a new road bike. The road bike is mostly for commuting, with the mountain bikes for fun.
I don't have any photos of me riding, but I do have photos of trails, and some GPS traces:

This is the view from the top of Grose Head south. I've only done this ride twice, both times in the first week of January so it's a ridiculous 40 deg C (around 105F). It's a slog to get up here, followed by 15 minutes of descending down to the bottom of the ridge.

This pic is from one of my favourite rides in the Mountains - St. Helena.

Here are some GPS traces - you can get the site to put them onto google earth for you and thus see the satellite images for the rides if you like.
