Using ur cpap during a storm
Using ur cpap during a storm
This is my third night using my cpap machine, yes im a newbie Ok, last night it was storming, i usually turn off my Tv, cp etc during a storms, this storm rolled in durning bedtime, so i was kinda concerned about if i should or shouldn't use my cpap or just wait until it passes...how safe is it to use during a storm? cus one night i may not even know its storming while im sleep
Re: Using ur cpap during a storm
A lightning strike could damage your machine, so it's best to plug it into a good surge suppressor.
But you are connected to the machine via a 6' non-conductive hose. So while the machine might fail, the danger to you is pretty darn small.

Re: Using ur cpap during a storm
I posted this in another thread too so don't think you are seeing double.
Our electricity goes out often and sometimes doesn't come back on for about 6 hours (this is a huge rural sparsely populated county). Also I will be using this unit when I go out of town with my horses and live out of my horse trailer with a small LQ, in the middle of nowhere USA (almost like home for me.)
I purchased the product listed and described below. It will run my CPAP (humidifer off, in passover mode) for several nights and I can either recharge it while driving my truck home with the unit plugged into the the car lighter or I can recharge it at home using the adapter cord that fits in the wall socket. I know you guys can put together cheaper setups but I decided to keep things simple and more understandable for me when my mind is tired and I have forgotten basic electronics. I get to use this unit to charge up things like my GPS and digital camera and other gadgets that I take along with me on my trips. Of course it is not light so isn't something to use on a hiking/biking/kayaking trip.

Y'all should get a power outage alarm too! So if power goes out, it wakes you up! Re-breathing with a mask is NOT GOOD.
