I didn't know about the price matching when I paid the cpap.com bundle price of $199. Darn......
Sorry ! I think they also have a price guarantee... but only within 7 days of when you bought it....

Oh well, I am not losing any sleep over it. It is what it is and I was thankful to get it when I did. I ordered it on a Wed and received the software on Friday and was immediately able to determine why I was still feeling like total crap. I really don't begrudge any of those excess pennies in cost. I have never been one to dwell on things beyond my control. Wasted effort in my book.

I think I got lucky... I bought the ResMed card through my supplier along with my S8 Elite II, and submitted all of it in the initial claim, and they covered all of it! My benefits provider put it all under the CPAP/BiPAP header code. I had also asked my supplier for a letter stating the card was not optional and was included with the machine, and sent that along with my claim.

Now to find a card reader... it's tough to find a reputable supplier for the ACR-38 in Canada.

Cheers,

BM

I believe that the ResMed machines come with a data card. I wouldn't be surprised if some DMEs remove them from the box when they confiscate the Gllinical Guide CD that comes in the box, too.

My machine came with the card but not the software or the reader.

The Elite that you show in your profile is fully data capable. The card supplied with the machine allows for the machine data to be written to it. Your DME supplier can use this card to see full details and even give you a print out of it if they wish and you ask. Otherwise it is mostly used to prove hours of usage and satisfy insurance requirements.

ResMed will not allow the software to be supplied to the patient in the US or Canada. It is available for purchase from Australian cpap website. The card reader can be found cheaper at various web sites in the US. No purchase restrictions on it. The software and card reader is never supplied as part of what the DME supplies on a routine basis. If you can get your doctor to write a Rx or order for the software that is a different story but I doubt insurance will pay.
