The most annoying part of CPAP therapy...

Post by RipVanWinkleWannabe » Tue Jul 21, 2009 6:22 am

I get my mask fitted perfectly...no leaks...low AHI...feeling good...then one night, my mask just doesn't seem to fit right...everything's a little *off*...start adjusting the straps...and spend the next week trying to get it to fit perfectly again. Anyone else experience this??? Maybe the straps are getting stretched??? I don't know, but it's frustrating.

Been there, done that!
Has my mask set up perfectly, then one night in bed I messed with the straps. I'm still trying to get it back to "perfect"!

Jettison that neoprene headgear and get a Papcap.
Perfect, everynight.

The PAPCAP is a GREAT HELP..........Image... My thought is someplace there is a MASK GOD that looks down and say's 'LET'S SCREW WITH HIM!" it's just time to change his life!
Image My ISSUE is I find a mask that works & I like they DISCONTINUE the dam thing?? Don't remember the name of what I had a couple years ago but it vanished from production......Image NOW the Twilight / AEIOMED ? mask has vanished???
JUST WARPED HUMOR! Image

I already sleep so warm I kick off covers, sheets, etc. and often wake up hot and sweaty. I can't image sleeping with a cap on my head, doesn't it make your head warm?

I know what you mean about sleeping warm. Even when my room temp is 69-70 I will wake up and find my mask starting to leak because of my sweaty face. The back of my neck is wet and so is my chest. Maybe my body thermostat is shot? Anyway, I throw back the covers, lay awake on my back for a while to cool off, then turn over and try to get back to sleep again. This goes on throughout the night many nights. I tried the papcap and it was a no go for me.

And yes to the reality that some nights are just from hell! But thank the good Lord that most nights are fairly decent. I guess we just need to be reminded of how bad it used to be and how fortunate we are!

Indeed. At least we aren't being robbed of our breath anymore. I'll take some mask issues over not breathing for 1/4 of the night.

Carbonman got my attention with the PapCap...I looked at the Pur Sleep website...but I don't understand how the cap would prevent the mask from losing its perfect setting. More info, please! Thanks.
