I was talking with a co-worker today and the subject of sleep walking in children came up. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if sleep walking as a child is related to adult OSA?
Thanks!

I did too, that is why I am curious
Re: Sleep walking and OSA?
That would be interesting to know!
My family has a history of many sleep disorders, particularly. Rapid eye movement behavior disorder, which some people think as "extreme" sleep-walking: when people act out their dreams. My father and sister seem to have that the worst, where sometimes it happens several times a week (stories too many and long to relate). . My parents recall only a few times where I did this, too, as a teen and once in my early 20s during exam week. My mother has very disordered sleeping. I believed I had a circadian rhythm disorder for years, but now i strongly believe it was actually OSA.
Possibly-- OSA causes so much disruption to sleep rhythms and sleep habits that it causes other REM disturbances in many people with OSA?

So.. how far can you sleep walk before the cpap dangling between your knees wakes you up?

Heheh! I was thinking I wouldn't get very far sleep walking while connected to my CPAP!georgepds wrote:So.. how far can you sleep walk before the cpap dangling between your knees wakes you up?
I used to sleep walk as a child, and my mom used to tell stories about all the funny things I did. I also used to talk in my sleep, and I occasionally still do.
