Let's see if Ozij and Hawthorne can see these (since they can view my reports). Screen shots of what I see, saved and hosted on my account.
Should be 10 of them. #1 starting with overall report, then each of the graphs. Let me know if any red X's appear.
To David: can you still make the first overall report larger? It is almost too tiny to read.
I have to go check on a sick dog. Be back later if this doesn't work or one link gets broken, let me know.

I can see them fine now, Brenda, no broken links, and the don't take ages to load either.
I too would appreciate larger letters - and you my want to block out your personal details, David.

Ok, I've tried what I could think of to increase the size of page one.

Image

I can see them on my computer, but when I'm on my work computer, I can't see them at all. But knowing the Army, they are blocking things like this. lol

From what I'm seeing, it might be saying that I've an AHI of 17. Not sure what that means. This was the at home study. I've the results from the one I did in the hospital, but it doesn't show anything like that. I can try to upload those later if anyone wants, but they are B&W and were faxed, so they aren't the best.

They're saying your sleep gets interrupted by choking events 17 times {edit} an hour (apneas +hypopneas per hour).

No less important: on the right side of the of the first page they're saying you spent 1 hour 46 minutes and some seconds (out of 5 hours) in oxygen levels that were too low ("Entsattigungen anzahl" means desaturations count, and just beneath it you have "Gesamtzahl (Std)" which mean total number, in hours (Stunden is hours).

Deepest desat was 72
Longest was 1.47 minutes

And - this is what probably had them most concerned: your lowest pulse beat was 21 and the highest was 120 -- and the first (minimum) happened an minute before the second (maximum). An indication of the terrible stress apnea is putting on your body.
No only are you getting choked, and loosing oxygen - you heart is working very hard to supply you body with the oxygen it needs.
You destaturation index was 33.

And the diagnosis: Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome, you need CPAP, and there were no (keine) artifacts in the test -- meaning the measurements are reliable.
O.

Edited to correct "minute" to "hour" in the first sentence, RG caught that one - thanks.

Ummm, well I'm gonna take a guess here and say that the results , though good to know, are very bad.

What really sucks, now that I know what that paperwork means, is that the Army is taking so long to get me into their hospital in Landsthul. I still have 10 more days to wait before I even go there, and I'm not sure how much longer after that before I get my machine. I need to see what I can do to speed this up because this is not good.

I could be wrong though. LOL

In the interim you could try to not sleep on your back, as gravity works against one in that position, and most people have more events. Some people even sew a tennis ball to their pajama top (army pajamas???) or sleep wearing a small backpack stuffed with lightweight material to keep them off of their backs.

It's not always easy to quantify how "bad" OSA is. For instance, this reports says that your AHI is 17 in this test, and supposedly an AHI of 17 isn't "severe".

But if you look at the graphs, there are periods where you are OK, and periods where your oxygen levels and pulse are getting hammered! Those may be periods where you are on your back or in REM sleep.

I know it's frustrating waiting for medical action and getting a machine, but all you can do is keep after them. The bad news is that you have a real health concern here. The good news is that now you know about it and help is on the way!

My thanks to everyone who has helped me figure out what that report said and in understanding of what is going on. Maybe with the translated results that the local doctor sent I can get some things changed and see about getting the last steps taken care of locally and sooner than what the Army has planned right now. A lot of things are starting to come together with this for me and I'm getting a better grip on what has/is/will be happening to me. At least now if i over sleep or something like that, I can blame it on the Apnea and I might not get into as much trouble.

To everyone here, I extend my warmest thanks for all the help that you have provided to me on this. I also want to thank you all for the support you've shown me as well. I know that I've someplace I can turn to when I need help and support.

David

If anyone needs a different image or if new images need to be posted might be easier if David sent me a private message and I gave him my private email. Then he could send the file images as attachments. I could then hopefully get better details on the letters/words plus I could block out personal information before posting. I did all that I know to do with these images but with originals I might be able to do better. Just let me know. Since I can't understand German this is about my extent of my ability to contribute here.

Display Image Instructions

Post by Muse-Inc » Tue Jun 30, 2009 2:46 pm

Right click on the red "X".

Select "Show image".

Wait for the image to be displayed. After it's been downloaded to your PC, it'll be stored in cached memory and re-displayed whenever you open this thread...or at least that's how it's working for me

Cheers!

That's what's stored in all those browser temporary files.

Well my oxygen levels got down to 56% and I lived with that from December until may for what it is worth.

So don't panic too much. It is good to be proactive with the medical establishment however. So many doctors don't realize the meaning of sleep apnea.

Don't think that it would do me much good at this time to panic. lol I've a feeling that I've had this for a very long time. I've been getting information from friends and family that even when I was much younger than I am now, I use to cut down whole red wood forests.
