Truth or Hoax?

Just called my DME to order a new Hybrid mask.. Said they had 3 in stock but the Hybrid is no longer being manufactured. They don't carry, nor will they order, the Liberty. Tried to set me up for a mask fitting appointment. Is there any truth to this or is (Northwest Medical ..Renton, Washington) trying to promote a more expensive mask.. I may have to find yet another DME. CJ

Sounds like hoax and just hard to get along with if they refuse to order something they don't normally carry (the Liberty).
I haven't heard any where that the Innomed Hybrid is being discontinued.

The Hybrid comes with 3 mouth cushion sizes and 3 nasal pillow sizes, so if they have it in stock why not go in for the fitting? Were you preferring the Liberty?

The Hybrid is still available from our host cpap.com. If you narrow search to Innomed product it is listed.
Also while I was researching it I found it available at many other online cpap supply web sites. It seems to be called a RespCare product at many web sites.

A lot of DME's are refusing to supply Innomed Products because of the exclusive dealer DeVilbliss. They have to set up a seperate account and if they don't buy very many their discount is less. I ran into this on the Nasal Air II. Generally easier to tell customer they don't make it anymore. After getting you to change to something else that they stock for a while when you find out it is still being made maybe you won't complain much to go back to an Innomed product. I still can't figure why Innomed did this. I would think it would hurt their sales but what do I know?

Welcome to the forum! I'm a bit south of you here in the great PNW. I gave up on my brick and mortar DME and have switched to purchasing online from cpap.com. I have Premera BC through my employer, and get only about 70% reimbursement, but I charge the difference back to my FSA.

I highly recommend you just buy out of pocket from cpap.com and submit your own insurance claims. So much less stress.

Just check that your insurance does not require that you use specific suppliers. Some will not reimburse for online purchases even though one spent LESS than the insurance company's DME's.

Thanks to all who replied..Looks like I will be shopping for a new DME..Shame on this one who cannot simply supply one Hybrid mask and filters every three months. Guess I don't bring in enough $$ for them. They had even archived my chart because I had not ordered for three months. My insurance does not cover online purchases, so depending on my deductable, sometimes it is to my benefit to go through the DME.
Babs, I have been around here for a couple of years. In fact we shared a DME when we first started. Remember Tony at BM??
I love cpap.com. Just bought a travel size Everest for our cruise. It worked great and was light weight.
