From a newbie- my first two nights were with nose pillows; I couldn't take them due to the pressure too great after ramp..

What are some of the most well liked FFM for newbies. I am a female and my pressure is 14-16

Welcome to the forum sleeplessinflorida! I don't use a ffm so can't give you much advice. From what I've read on the forum it is very much a personal issue due to face shape, size, etc.

Please take a few moments to go the User Control Panel and edit your profile to list your equipment. It will make it much easier for others to answer your questions with specificty if we know what you have. Using the text option makes it much easier for the rest of us to read it.

Every person has unique facial contours, preferences, etc.

Having said that, the Ultra Mirage FF and Quattro FF seem to be the two most popular. I started with the UM and switched to the Quattro, and have been happier with it.

Tonight will be my 4th night with my CPAP, so I guess I qualify as a newbie.

I did my titration study w/ a Mirage Quattro and liked it. My DME was out of them when I got my machine so I have been using an Ultra Mirage for the last 3 nights.

I think I am going to like the Quattro better because of how easy it is to adjust and make the bridge of the nose area more comfortable. The dial on the quattro allows a finer adjustment than the 4 slots on the Ultra. There's also just something about the shape that works better for my nose.

I just got my Quattro today so I might have more to report in the morning. To be safe, I'm going to hold onto the Ultra for a couple nights before sending it back to my DME...just to be sure.

The most well liked mask for newbies and vets is the one that works.

Here are some ideas for you.....

I am very partial to the Hans Rudolph Full Face mask because you can call the company and talk to a live person and the mask come in 5 different sizes.

The head gear is like a cap and therefor does not mess up the hair style that much.

You must remember not all masks are for everyone.

No I am not a representative nor a distributor of the Hans Rudolph. I know what works for me and once a person has finds a mask that they like and works, you tell all who will listen.

Just email them from their web site http://www.rudolphkc.com/
