Devilbiss intellipap auto adjustability?

Post by eudofair » Mon Jun 08, 2009 7:06 pm

The ads for the intellipap auto say that the apnea threshold is adjustable. If so, in what way and how much?
I'm looking for a cpap device that can be set to longer than 10 seconds of not breathing defined as apnea. I'd really like where this would be a minute or so. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

easy as pie with the auto intellipap. 6 to 150 seconds (increments of 2) 0 to 20% or 30 to 70% of flow for AI or HI

Maybe doesn't like breathing air.... Jim

I however like all the air I can get, I want to use it all before the price goes up.

Among other things, when I'm startled, I hold my breath. Sometimes just so I can hear better. Seldom more than a minute for any of the causes. it startles me when a mask leaks.

It would help if machines had a "Hey, I'm all right, back off" button.

Thanks Fred for the Info!

I do suggest that you listen to the Devilbiss webinars prior to making any changes.

Thanks Fred, I tried viewing the Webinars but the quality of the audio track was so poor that I only scavanged about 70 percent of the content. It sounded like a non-professional speaker in an auditorium with uncontrolled reflections/reverberations speaking up/down, clearly then mumbling. I viewed the slides however. The default values for triggering responses are off in value for my breath training background of responses. I appreciate the help.

Eduofair - I apologize for the poor audio qaulity on our AutoAdjust webinar, we are in the process of correcting the problem. Please let me know if you have any additional questions about the DeVilbiss IntelliPAP AutoAdjust alogrithm.

I would also like to note the DeVilbiss Marketing twice ignored my question about studies mentioned in the webinars.

First time: May 25th

Second time: June 3rd

Here's my question about DeVilbiss IntelliPAP AutoAdjust alogrithm, a third time:
ozij wrote:Kit,
According to thDeVilbiss IntelliPAP AutoAdjust alogrithme webinars, Devilbiss assumes a drop in flow of more than 95% is central, and it will not respond to those apneas. Can you point us to studies supporting those assumptions?
Do you have info about the percentages of false positive and false negatives when that rule is used?

Thank you
O.
