Humidaire H4i

Post by I Am » Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:49 pm

I see the H4i is not an option in the menu for humidifiers for the elite ll.
Is there a firmware update? or?

Great picture, twokat! And yes, I've wondered why that option wasn't available on the menu, too, although the humidifier seems to work perfectly well with the machine.

Hmmm, wonder if something changed? I had a ResMed 8 Elite ll, that came with a H4i. It worked well, and was supposed to be superior to the H3i.

I had nasal sores that wouldn't heal, and I had to trade for the Fisher & Paykel 608 with the "super duper" humidifier. The F&P does not have a scintilla of data capability, & I hope to be able to get another ResMed Elite ll.

Post what you discover on the humidifier.

Thanks
Jan

I noticed the same thing. The humidifier does not appear to be a customizable setting. If you disconnect the humidifier you will see the humidifier as 'none' (or something like that as I recall) and when the H4i is connected it will automatically appear as H3i. My take on it is that the type indication mismatch probably doesn't matter...

No.

There is no difference between and H3i and an H4i Humidifier module from the point of view of the firmware in the flow generator.

The differences between the H3i and H4i are entirely within the control scope of Humidifier module itself.

Cheers,

Bill

As Bill said....no diff.

here's what Resmed had to say.
Paul

Hi;

It will function the same with either humidifier attached!

It wasn’t changed in the software and the unit doesn’t know which humidifier is connected to it, it just sees that it is connected and will say H3i regardless of which one it is!

The features and everything will work the same! I hope this answers your question!
