Waking up and taking off mask

Post by SkipperH » Fri Jun 05, 2009 2:39 pm

I'm trying to understand why I keep removing mask and falling back to sleep without it. What should I be looking for? Humidifier set too high? Temperature too high? Wrong mask? How do you really know?

It's actually pretty common Skipper. In time you should become more used to wearing the mask and consequently have fewer instances of removal. Welcome to CPAPing.
Masks I've tried but didn't like :
FlexiFit HC405 - couldn't stop the leaks

I'm currently at 1. Don't remember why to tell you the truth. I've never really had a problem with taking my mask off - its only happened a few times. I think for me moving to nasal pillows instead of a nasal mask really helped. I fought the mask all the time because of leaks and I'm pretty sure that is why I took it off during my sleep.

taking mask off in sleep is common for new users, if it continues, tape mask to face so the pain will remind you to leave it on
