REMStar M Series Question

Post by klockemy » Wed May 13, 2009 2:26 pm

How does this machine know what time it is? In the provider/clinician menu, there isn't a place to set the time; but when I run my reports off EncoreViewer, it has the correct date and times of my sleep sessions.

klockemy - very good question. However it is set, there must also be a battery back-up because mine is still accurate and it has travelled with me several times, being unplugged for up to 14 hours at a time each way. it will be interesting to hear/see responses on this.

Well i can imagine a rechargeable backup battery. I don't remember if I set the clock in the provider menu, I suspect I did. Its that or it's using microwave burst encoded transmissions and getting the time from NORAD

klockemy, the cpap is set at the factory to GMT. It can not be reset by the user and they generally loose a few minutes a month. Some DME's have the equipment to reset them but not many. The computer clock through Encore converts the time to the time zone you are in. I have had mine almost three years and it is almost an hour off. I have tried to find the equipment (card cable and program) to set them but can not find a place that will sell to me. As Goofproof usually says when this question come up, if you want a clock go to Wally World. You can offset your computer time and correct for it but most don't it is worth the effort.
