So far, so good!
I really enjoy this website. This is a good community.
I'm very happy with the therapy. I've got lots more energy. I'm already starting to cut back on my 6 cup of coffee per day habit, as I don't need it any longer to stay conscious during work. It's a dramatic personal revolution. I feel great.
Anyhow, that's the subjective report. I realize now I will need a chin strap to get the software for my machine. I like having the ability to monitor my own therapy. To paraphrase what I've read here and on another website, I am my own best health advocate. Further, I think I'll get a blood pressure monitor. Driving out of my way to wal-mart to test the BP is a drag.
I've noted the moving average for the AHI index go from 3.9 on day 1 down to 2.9 today-- obviously a good thing.
But, curiously, I've seen the leak rate move up from 21.0 to 24.8.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

The difference between average leak of 21.0 to 24.8 lpm for a Swift LT is not significant. If you have the software, you can look at the more detailed nightly data and see if the leak data is fairly constant (somewhat level line plot) or variable (line plot with spikes and valleys). In other words, you can have both types of plots and the same average but the constant leak data will provide a lower AHI score.lebowski8 wrote:So far, so good!

I wouldn't worry too much in any case. Your numbers look very good and your subjective feeling confirms that your treatment is going well. Congrats!
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

I am still figuring out leak rates etc myself.... But I wanted to say congratulations on feeling better Using the machine really does make a difference
I dont suffer from insanity.... I enjoy every minute of it!

What pressure is your machine set at?
In your mask manual there is a graph of the "Vent Flow Rate". If you look at your pressure setting on the bottom of the graph and follow it up it will show you what leak rate the machine will compensate for at your pressure setting. Every pressure will be different.
The difference between what the graph shows for your pressure and the actual pressure reading on your machine is your leak rate. It can vary a few points either way.
Your leak rate shows me that you are probably at a fairly low pressure setting.

The print in my manual is too small for me to read accurately.
Is there a calculator for this?

Re: first 7 days with cpap report
With a pressure of 8.5 cm and using the Swift LT, your vent rate is around 28. I have to use a magnifying glass to see these charts usually, so I know what you mean when you say it is too small.
Given that your leak rate is below that, you have no problems with mask leakage. Even if it went up to 28 or 30 you would still doing very well.
With an AHI of 3.9 and 2.9 and a leak rate of 21.0 and 24.8, you are doing very well!
Your leak rate is very good. Your AHI is below 5, and under 5 is considered well treated sleep apnea.
You have more energy and don't need as much coffee to function and, with those numbers, you ARE doing just great!
Your therapy is going well! The data and the way you feel, both prove that!
Just keep doing what you are doing!
