Resetting my APAP; Asthma and humidity

Post by Trinity101 » Sun Apr 26, 2009 10:44 pm

Hi,
So far i have been able to raise my ramp- which though I rarely use it, has made me feel better already.The occasions where I have accidentally hit it have been very uncomfortable. Could someone possibly PM me and help me to reset the parameters for my APAP? I have not been able to find any way into the menu to set anything else except the flex.
Also- since starting PAP therapy, my asthma has grown worse- I have read through past posts and it seems divided on humidity and asthma- mine seems to get worse with much humidity- with my type of humidifier am I getting ANY humidification with it turned all the way to off? Would it make sense to get a separate humidifier to use as a passover without heat- might that work better than a heated one does??
Thanks so much,
~joan

Yes you are getting some humidity when it's turned off... in fact I rarely turn mine on. With it turned on I just feel stuffy.

You can find how to set the machine here;
http://www.apneaboard.com/CPAP%20Adjustment.htm

If you don't turn the humidifier on it will work as a passover humidifier.

We keep humidifier filled with refrigerated distilled water with HH turned to off, operated in passover mode.
