I have always been an avid cyclist, but that took a back seat for almost 2 years when I had lots of problems sleeping and hence no energy. Been on CPAP for 8 months now, bought a nice bike back in September (a 03 Trek 5200 full Ultegra gruupo, flight deck computer, shimano spd pedals.) Joined a club (RABA.org). Been averaging 17 mph now and rode 530 miles this last month. I am doing a century on 5/2 and 5/9 and then a 130 mile century in June. None of this would be possible before I was on CPAP. This relatively simply therapy has given me my passion for cycling back and has given me more of the appreciation I get for my freedom on 2 wheels.

You sure are lucky insomniyak.....beautiful bike too............sure wish I could do some long rides someday...oh well....ride on!

Thanks for the compliments. Got a good deal on the bike on Craigslist. It was a personal commitment I made to myself when I started feeling better on CPAP and I wanted to try and live healthier. I never really have as much time as I'd like to in order to ride, but I have done a bit considering.

Ride on!!

I gotta join in.

This is what is known as a comfort bike. It has very high handlebars so it is easy to look around, the pedals are a bit forward, and the seat is large and cushy. A real geezer's bike.

It is hard to stand up in the pedals though. No off roading on this one.

In the background is what is known as San Diego.
