Post by kest874 » Mon Jan 19, 2009 10:04 am

Hi all,

What masks are people haveing good luck with attaching directly to the PAPCAP? I know my ComfortGel works well but I'm thinking of trying something different. (nasal pillow)

Thanks much!

I am using it with the Mirage Activa - FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

I was using the original papcap and decided to make the switch to the papcap II - works great. I have found that I am adjusting less with the papcap II than I was with either the original papcap and headgear or plain headgear and chin strap.

From what I can see - Bret has made the Papcap II so uniquely adjustable that I am confident that you could use it with any mask - and as we know Bret - if you have any issues - he will address them and make it right. Thanks Bret!

I used the original Papcap w/the Optilife nasal pillow mask, for the chin strap function.
It worked very well. ...and it kept the neoprene straps off my hair.

I tested the first PapcapII when it came out w/the Quattro and UM.
I have never used anything since.
The only time I have to mess w/adjustments is after I wash it.

I can't even picture my therapy w/out a Papcap.

Not only is it a functional piece of cpap equipment,
it is a true, hand made, American product.

I have used, and still do, both the original and the PAPcap 2. I purchased the PAPcap 2 to attach a FF mask but switched to the Swift LT. I use my PAPcap for the chin strap and wear the swift headgear over the cap and it stays in place great for me. I wouldn't go to bed without it now.

My husband is using a Mirage Quatro with headgear and Monday will be adding a chinstrap.. The main problem is when he relaxes of course his mouth falls open and then the mask leaks, hoping the chinstrap will take of this. I'll have to research PAPCAP.

OK. Is PAPCAP an actual mask or a generalized term?

It is a cap with a chin strap which you may attach your mask to - replacing your headgear - the built in chin strap is, IMHO, the best chin strap/headgear on the market.

Sounds like it is getting postive reviews!

How quick and easy is it to put on and take off. Do you have to re-adjust straps each time if you ditch your masks original head gear? I have a tendency to rip my mask off at about 4am...i just need some freedom at that point!

What is the difference between papcap and papcap II? I believe i have the original one and do like
it very much, but am always interested in something new. Couldn't find anything about PapCap II
on the website.

Good question I would like to know the answer myself. I would also like to know how easy it is to take on and off and to adjust.

The original Papcap was just the chin strap function.
It did not have the straps for supporting a ffm.
The PapcapII is a full function cap, that can do both.
I don't use the chin strap since I switched to a ffm.
It is a wonderful product.

I have the Swift LT and just got my PapCAP II in the mail today. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'm planning on wearing my headgear over the PapCAP.

Everytime I'm convinced you've given it all up, you resurface.

TRY IT! If you don't like it - sell it on cpapauction.com.

From what I'm hearing, most folks attach their mask directly to the PAP CAP and ditch their headgear.

I bought another one just last week. I decided I wanted to try it again. I was iffy about it the first time I tried it, and then I gave away the second one I bought that I WAS sending out with the NAII test drive. Time to try again.

Nice to read you again, Debbie!

Yep...that's me...comin and goin....I have been shall we say non-compliant? I just started back at it since I was feeling less than 100%. I decided if I'm gonna do this I want all the comforts! I do love my papillow I bought. It was too tall so I just unstuffed it a bit re-stitched it and saved the extra stuffing for when it flattens out and needs some fluffing! Nice to hear from you Babette...I see you are still going strong here! Good for you! You are a great source of information and support!!!
