What do you think? New chin strap
What do you think? New chin strap
Hey forum pals,
I'd appreciate your ideas on this chin strap. Ignore the advertising and claims . . . and check out the strap itself. Do you think it may offer more help in keeping the mouth shut than the other popular chin straps? It does come with a hefty price tag. (The 90 day guarantee doesn't reimburse for shipping and has a 25% restocking fee).

Thanks!
Joy

Re: What do you think? New chin strap
It looks okay. It's very similar to the one I have, but mine only has a single strap, and it slipped twice last night. I am waiting on my Pur-Sleep PapCAP to arrive. To me the PapCAP makes a lot of sense in that it distributes the pressure evenly across your whole head. There's no chance of a strap slipping.
The only drawback I can think of with the PapCAP is that it might get warm in the summer, but I won't know until I try it.

But wait! That's not all! If you order right now, they will even throw in a sexy bed partner (shipping fees apply) on a 3 night trial basis and a monthly service fee will be charged to your credit card for an easy hassle free transaction.
Seriously though, tat is right ... you need something more like the PapCap not only because of distributing forces across whole head but also because the chin part does not stretch and actually does keep your jaw in place.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
Re: What do you think? New chin strap
I think it's a bad design, bad fabric, and over priced.
For less money, better design, and better fabric, try the new Ruby Adjustable Chinstrap. I just got mine, and I'm very pleased with it:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/cardin ... strap.html
It IS considerably smaller than the old Topaz. I wear a men's size 7-1/4 hat, and I've got this let out to the largest it will go. It's comfortable on me, but it would probably be too small for a larger head.
I'm impressed with it so far. Can't hurt to try, at this price.
Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.
Re: What do you think? New chin strap
I agree with some of the others posters and recommend the PAPcap from Pur-Sleep. I have both the original version and the new one they offer now and I've been happy with both. The chin strap is very comfortable to sleep with and doesn't leave any marks on my face in the morning. It also seems well made and easy to put on.

One more vote for the PapCap. Another benefit is that the cap prevents your hair from being entangled in the mask's headgear. Plus, depending on the model you want it is about 1/3 the cost.

It looks like the one I just got from my DME, mine has the two straps and it doesn't work.

Joy.
Check the web site Stop the Snoring-An Overview of Popular Snoring Remedies. At the end of the page there is a FDA warning that there are no FDA approved over the counter or self-help snoring products that offer effective treatment or relief for sleep apnea, a serious & potentially fatal condition, including the Snor-Ender. (I I didn't know how to transfer the URL to this post) This one can be found in the USA for the same price as the Australian one
It is slightly different than the one in your illustration, and you were planning on using it as an aid to your Sleep Apnea treatment.
It probably is a too-good-to-be-true item, the way they project it's use.

I'm with you . . . that's why I said "ignore the advertising and claims" . . . and went on to just talk about it as "another chinstrap". I don't expect any chinstrap to do much more than keep the mouth shut. I'm always on the lookout for a way to get rid of taping . . . that is effective in keeping the mouth closed..

Re: What do you think? New chin strap
Hi Joy,
I knew where you were coming from on the chin strap. For me, RIGHT NOW, taping is indispensable. I can't say that when I do it, that it is my favorite moment of the day, but it is the only way for me to keep my mouth closed when I want it to be.
I think it is a possibility that some creative person on cpaptalk.com will dream up another way to accomplish this. Maybe it will be Rooster, R.G., Ozji, or perhaps an idea will form in any one of the nearlly 40,000 members on this forum.
After all, this is the place where hundreds of creative thoughts have already occured.
Maybe you will be the one.
Best to you

Re: What do you think? New chin strap
my first thought was at that price i would expect to see the stitching done in 24 carat gold thread! I also think it looks as though it would pull in a similar direction to the Ruby eg diagonally backwards rather than straight up and this suits me fine - i actually use the Ruby and it works well for me but after i ordered it i noted that cpap.com put a cautionary note that due to this diagonal pull it may pull the jaw backwards and in some people this will make sleep apnea worse. Now as i said, i get on fine with the ruby, it is the 3rd design i tried and the most effective by far!
I do agree that the Pap cap looks like a very well thought out design and if i were to try another chin strap, the pap cap would be my choice

Re: What do you think? New chin strap
It looks OK, a bit pricey. Being in Arizona I would be concerned about how hot any chin strap would make me feel. I could not see any indication of what material this is made from which I would need to know regarding the heat issue.
Kennys PAP Cap looks good but and it is made of cotton so I'll be interest to know how warm that makes you feel Kenny?
