So you are saying I'm not beautiful? I'm totally insulted...bad enough my facial contours are not what you would call accepting of a CPAP mask, but then to have to endure the laughter at one of my better portraits? Hmm, and I used to like you all so much.

And, tomjax, I will never utter another negative word over the Breeze. My lovely full lips (see above) are forever sealed on the subject... .

Thanks, guys and gals.

tomjax, if you'd be kind enough to pm me your home phone number then I'd really enjoy chatting with you.

I've read the "Breeze" thread - tried the adjustments (laying down, too!) as much as I know how - and still, nothing but pain.

Lori, I'm primarily a side sleeper and from what I've read about the Swift it's not the best mask for side sleepers .

If the Breeze won't work for me then I'm going to take it back to my DME so that they may give it to the less fortunate. They've been so good to me and have just asked that anything I don't use to bring back so they can give it to those who can't afford them.

OLDSEAROCK,

I don't know where you are reading this but the Swift is great for side sleepers, I am one and love it. The only negative is the "NIKE" swish imprint some get. I don't. The secret is get a visco memory foam pillow, you will be glad you did anyway.

I am a side sleeper exclusively and this is the only mask I wear exclusively. I've tried the oral Oracle, the Activa, the Breeze and the Swift and, side sleeper and all, Swift is it for me.

You do what makes you comfortable and rested, of course. But please don't let that be the reason you don't try the Swift. Geez, you sound just like I did with both the Breeze and now the reluctance to try to Swift because of ths side sleeping. You may just be the male version of me!!!

Lori,

That's either a compliment or a condemnation... if it was meant as a compliment, thanks !

OSR,

Now, that's food for thought. I guess you'd have to know me better and decide for yourself. Seriously, though, you sound just like I did in the beginning of all this "fun."

And I did note the " " thank you...

OldSeaRock:

I would be the last person to knock any mask as over the last 11 years i have tried many, with both GOOD and BAD results! Lori (sleepless in LI) had a terrible time with the BREEZE w/pillows so i know her frustration! when SHE posts stuff i don't beleive she is being VINDICTIVE FOR HER ORDEAL BUT RATHER SHE IS JUST TRYING TO GIVE A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT OCCURED TO HER TO help OTHERS WHO MAY BE GOING THROUGH THE SAME MISERY!!! I beleive she is just trying to save others some GRIEF! She is telling you what happened to HER and i think she is leaving it up to YOU to make an intelligent decision! If we didn't have people like HER and many others on this site giving info, we would all be making BUY decisions BLIND as i did for many years! So i might be wrong about it but i beleive Lori's heart is in the right place, SO I GO ON RECORD AS DEFENDING HER and i for one will always read HER posts (as well as all the others), learn from it and then make my desicion!!
I also agree with Rock & Roll and Lori (Sleepless) that the SWIFT is one of the best interfaces for side sleepers like us!

My best to you,
steve

Hi

When Lori finally gave up on her breeze I bought it - and love it! But, I keep reading about people getting larger and larger pillow sizes and wonder what's going on! I am using the medium pillows that sit just inside the nare and seal perfectly! Going any larger would cause me pain! Maybe you're going the wrong way and need to go down a size!

Anyway, one other thing, I'm sure you know this, but make sure you give your nares a good wash befor you go to sleep to get rid of any micro body oils that there may be as these tend to cause leaks.

As for the swift, I also have one and it is ok for side sleeping, but it drives me mad with the straps across my face!! It seals very well tho' and can be very comfortable at times - if you can cope with the straps across your face.

Hope this helps. if not, just feel free to ignor me!

To Steve/UFO 13,

WILL YOU MARRY ME???? Oops, forgot, I am already married.

Thank you so much for those beautiful words. I have to say, you hit the nail on the head regarding my intent, but you said it so nicely, I don't know what to say in response but thank you. I hope others realized that my only intent when I post is never to be vindicitive or bash anything, but to just give MY experiences just for informational purposes. I don't think it would be correct to only post when I have good things to say. You need to be able to give the pros and cons from your own standpoint without others thinking you're trying to be nasty or sway them away from something, and that's all I was trying to do. And I always say, what works for one person doesn't for another as a caveat. Or at least I always try to remember to add that.

Again, I don't know what else to say but thanks, Steve!
