Just back from my primary doc. I have an ear infection, but I got great news too!
My blood pressure is down 30 points since I started CPAP. Which means I was 126/62 on no BP meds. (I stopped taking it a couple days ago because I wasn't sure if I was sick or having a side effect of the meds.)
I no longer have high blood pressure and my BP meds have been discontinued. I haven't any other changes that could explain it, so it's probably because of the CPAP,
Yay for being a hosehead!
Woo hoo- yay for CPAP!

Terrific
I love to hear good stories that prove cpap is more than just an air pump
Congratulations - enjoy it

sleepisgood,
Excellent! Congratulations!
I am on one BP meds--well actually it's a combo (Diovan HCT). It's been under control, usually around 125/70, but since starting CPAP I have noticed that it's more like 115/60. I'm only on week seven of PAP therapy!

Re: Woo hoo- yay for CPAP!
My doc was even more impressed because I've had to take decongestants the last couple days and I was still lower.
I'm 6 months into PAP therapy, but I've been working on getting more hours of sleep. I think the 1 hour more sleep (and CPAP) per night really made the difference. I've had borderline high BP for years, and on meds for 6 month. Very nice to cross it off the list!

sleepisgood,
That is awesome news! I hope to share your good fortune when I get started. Lowering my BP would be great. Thanks for sharing! Bearcat42
