REMStarPlus M Series - Can you shut off the LEDs?
Can you shut the LEDs on the buttons off? They are really bright and I find them quite annoying.

The short answer is NO. You can cover them with something but what I do is close my eyes. I find the lites handy to shut the machine off in the dark

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

I have found that lost/solo socks are very convenient for blocking the blue lights.

I wondered the same thing. I used a piece of cardboard to cover them, but it kept ending up on the floor when I hit ramp or power
I would not by an M series because the LEDs annoyed me so much. They are 10 x brighter than Resmed or Intellipap.

SnuggleHose - Got the 8 foot and cut it down to 6, used the rest for mask hoses.

I actually like the blue light on my machine, it gives my room a kind of peaceful glow. I do think that there should have been a switch on the machine to turn off the lights if wanted.

Re: REMStarPlus M Series - Can you shut off the LEDs?
I'm with you, SleepinDC, that those lights are truly annoying and we should be able to turn them down or off but unfortunately we can't. When I first got my M series last summer, like you, I posted a thread on it. Someone suggested to stick a post-it on on them and I've been doing that ever since. I don't mind a small amount of light since it does make it earlier to locate the button to turn it off but the bright blue is ridiculously bright.

Ok. Thanks for the advice guys. I like the machine other than those LEDs, but oh well. It's amazing to me there isn't a switch or something to disable them.

Well, it would probably add $10 to the cost of the machine - - - which would mean a price hike of $250 at the brick and mortar DME's.

Re: REMStarPlus M Series - Can you shut off the LEDs?
Hi,
The blue lights on the M Series are definitely brighter then on the older tank models. But, the lights actually dim about 50% after the unit has been running for about ten seconds. They brighten back up if you turn it off or brighten for ten seconds if you change the settings (like push ramp) while it is running.
So, if you think that they are a little bright, try turning it off and then you'll "See the light."
I've gotten use to the brighter M Series lights and now just accept them as a night light.

Yeah. Thats what I'm going for. I would take it apart and de-solder them if I wasn't worried about warranty issues.builta wrote:Hi,

I cut out three little circles from black plastic electical tape and stuck them on my buttons. Works great, they don't slide off. Still wish you could just switch them off. Maybe they'll burn out before the machine wears out :<)

Re: REMStarPlus M Series - Can you shut off the LEDs?
Just thought I would add that, as the proud owner of a a Devilbiss Intellipap, the lights on the buttons are nicely muted compared to the M series. They are bright enough to find the buttons in the dark, but not so bright they annoy me.
No need to put anything over them, and they brighten up for a while when a button is pressed.
Now that I have experienced the quietness of the Intellipap I could never go back.
