New haircut, new problem...help!

Post by Rosebud » Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:47 am

Okay, so I thought less hair would mean less tangling w/the straps & such! But instead, I had more leaks and my nose is sore as can be. Not my nares...a little bit of vicks keeps that at bay. No, the nose itself is sore! I had to tighten the straps a little bit (less hair, I guess) and must have gotten too tight. But then why all the leaks? I finally gave up in anger and frustration a full hour before alarm time, and just got up! The only other change was that I added cheek pads to my mask (ordered from cpap.com), but why should that contribute to the problem? Thoughts and suggestions, oh wise and sage ones???

I think the extra tightening may have contributed to the new leaks - happens all the time. You probably would have been better off to wear a toque to bed for a few days following the haircut . Do you have another mask that might adapt better to the new hair, at least until it starts growing in again?

Rosebud,

To prevent strap slippage in my hair I comb my hair all back and pin it with hair clips. The clips are metal, flat, wide, and in the shape of a triangle with a long narrow hole down the middle. They bend open and close and you can get them anywhere. I put a bunch of them on the back of my head, a few in front and on top securing my hair back. This keeps hair out of my face and the back straps do not slip. Great way to keep your hair free of facial moisturizer as well.
