Does anyone have recommendations for full face masks? What works best for you?

I like the Resmed Ultra Mirage Full Face, and the Fisher Paykel Flexfit HC431

Ultra Mirage Full Face

Flexfit HC431

Both are top drawer and reasonably priced at cpap.com.

Hi Sleepyguy,

I use the ResMed Ultra Mirage FF (full face) mask. I like it very well for nights when I'm congested and want to breathe through my mouth.

Flexifit Full Face 431 problems

Post by SLEEPY_RICHARD » Sun Jan 02, 2005 11:21 pm

The FlexiFit 431 is very comfortable to wear but terrible to use!!

It has been made cheaply and has no anti-suffocation valve - the FlexiFit instead has a non-return valve in the elbow, this means that when you exhale you have to FORCE the air out the exhaust vents and this means you are exhaling against a MUCH higher pressure than your machine is running at and is VERY uncomfortable!

It also doesn't have the quick release that the Resmed has!

Try this yourself - place the mask firmly on your face and hold it so it won't leak - now take a deep breath and try to exhale!!

I was told when I selected a full face mask that they are harder to use at higher pressures. I am not having much trouble at 17, but I have been using cpap for a long time.
