Detailed Data for Autoset II

Post by Statsfreak » Sun Mar 15, 2009 6:00 pm

I thought I had it made when I hooked up the card reader after installing the ResScan 3.7 software. But for some reason there was no detailed data available for the detailed review page. Only summary graphs were shown.

In the true spirit of RTFM I delved into the PDF and think I discovered the problem (can somebody who really knows for sure please chime in): you only get detailed data if you use the ResLink thing, whatever that is. Can this be true? Bummer! All else being equal this would be a big reason for me to go with the M-series over the S8.

Where can I get a ResLink and for how much?

I have no problem getting detailed data with the card reader. I do however have to disable my network adapters while using vista in order for the card reader to be recognized. Perhaps you're not selecting "detailed data" prior to download??

I hope you are right ... running off to check ASAP!!!

When I said detailed data what I mean is on the review tab inside the ResScan SW I can only get the summary graphs and not the detailed graphs.

I do not have any problem getting detailed data. With mine it is only there for 4 days and then just stats and graphs, so if I want the full data I must download every four days. I have XP on my laptop on purpose... no Vista here.

In ResScan:
  1. Click on the Download button on the top toolbar.
  2. Click on the Select button.
  3. Choose All available data.
  4. Click on Start Download.
Sleep well and live better!

Thanks stats. Glad you are now able to get all of it. It really makes a difference understanding and seeing where perhaps one's problems lie...i.e. leaks..when and where they happened.
Good luck!

I think you might have just answered another question I've had. How many days can I go before I *must* insert the card into the S8 or lose data? This is important to me because I will be out of country for 2-3 weeks at a time (without access to my computer) and need to figure out what to do to save all detailed data. I am thinking I could just have multiple smart cards, but how many?

To be safe figure on one card for every 4 days away from the 'puter. Actually, I think they are supposed to hold 5 days, at least the S8s were, but I've no experience w/the S8 IIs and I'd rather be safe than sorry. On the other hand, you would at least have the Summary Data and the Statistic averages.

However, the "Detailed Data" that you get from the data card does not contain all the data that you would get from your Autoset II if you were to use the Reslink. Using the data card you get just four items: Leak, AHI, Pressure and Events. The device actually measures much more, but it does not get stored unless you have the Reslink. pp20-21 of the ResScan 3.7 Clinical Guide shows that you get the "Low Resolution Detailed Data". Given that the newer VPAPs do provide this data via the data card (again, see the table in the manual) this seems to me like it is probably a memory limitation in the Autoset, rather than anything else.

Now, the Reslink uses 32MB cards, which in this day and age is ridiculously small: I have just bought a 16GB Micro SD card for $29, i.e. 500 times the capacity of the card used by the Reslink, and that is retail price.

p 34 of the manual gives a list of some of the detailed data that is being recorded by the Resmed (though of course oximetry requires a sensor).

It seems to me that Resmed are being really cheap by not putting enough memory on board to store and transfer all this data to ResScan.

Or perhaps I'm being dumb and missing something?

And maybe Resmed, et al, have just given up providing more memory capacity 'cause the North American doctors could give a rat's rear past the first Statistical data page of a download report (if that!).

How many of you have a sleep doctor who actually looks at the full download or at more than that first page?? I haven't met one yet that did. I've encountered SIX who did NOT (four from one sleep lab and two others).
