About 30 minutes to an hour after I fall asleep I wake up. My machine is on, the mask is off and laying next to me. The straps aren't loosened which tells me I'm pulling the mask off unconsciuosly. Anyone else have this problem? Should I duct tape it to my head or what?
TIA

I did it quite a bit for the first couple weeks.....and from what I read is a very common occurrence in acclimating to cpap therapy. Little by little my willpower won over and I was able to keep it on. Check for mask comfort.....it shouldn't be overly uncomfortable. Also an "overhead' hose arrangement helped me. Good luck!

Usually it's just a matter of time and familiarity before that conduct stops, unless for some reason the ramp pressure or titrated pressure is not adequate and one feels like they can't breathe. I wouldn't recommend duct tape (OUCH!), but it wouldn't be a bad idea to implement some safeguards, although you might get past those in your sleep too. Some have reported waking up to find their masks not only removed but also put neatly away. Myabe you could try bandaids across some straps that come into contact with skin, and hopefully the pain of removing them will awaken you and you can put the mask back on.
