Its not all roses on cpap

Post by elader » Mon Mar 09, 2009 12:26 pm

Daylight savings.... room too hot.... can't sleep...

finally.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

and then at 3:10 AM, I manage to pull the Hozer (rods, clips, hose, etc) down on my head with a crash.

great. now the damn dog needs to pee.

back to bed.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

6:30AM, awake with that feeling of being asphyxiated. WTF???????? I have my head and my mask buried under a pillow, and I am blocking the exhaust vent quite effectively.

Rearrange.

Oversleep till 7:20. Have an 8AM conference call with Germany.

Get into the office at 7:59AM.

Happy Monday to All

Oh man, sorry to hear about all the middle-of-the-night calamity. I blocked my vent once last night, but I found out REAL quick!

The Hozer is working out great by the way. Took your advice and went down to two rods. Much better.

Now only if I could keep my big mouth shut during the night! I see a FF mask in my near future...

I have smelled the roses a few times but only at a distance so far.
How has the hozer worked for you besides last night that is?

I use the CPAP hose lift system for travel and at the firehouse because I can't leave anything permanent. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/flexib ... -lift.html
At home I use the hose buddy. What's nice about this is the hook on the end to hang my mask from when not hanging from my face. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/HoseBu ... ystem.html.

I have four full months and started on my fifth month on cpap. Things have been ok with the exception of my machine.
I do feel better but on those nights when my machine malfunctions I am no good the following day.

You're right, it isn't all roses.... some nights are the fertilizer that makes the flowers grow. But then you wake up other mornings and see the beautiful flowers, hear singing birds in the bright sunshine. You know, just like those gaggy commercials!

Sounds like you found the thorns last night! I think you're supposed to pull the petals to make a bed of roses.

Hope nights like that don't happen often.

5aces... Gotta ask about your avatar. That had to hurt when she fell, but the dude walking doesn't even notice. What's up with him? He should rip off that towel and jump in to "save" her!

other than me yanking it out of it's base yesterday, I love it. I am usually completely unaware that there is a hose attached to me.

Sorry to hear about that - not a nice way to start the week

Cpap certainly has a few bad moments (apart from all the effort to get a stable environment which can easily swallow a year).

Good that you can talk easily about it & not get too upset

Cheers

Have you looked at getting the machine replaced? It should be under warranty.

So, anyone have a solution for just dang pulling the hose out of the machine .. yep, that is my latest trick .. nothing like waking up holding the whole dang hose .. with the machine going bonkers!
