HC432 mask has sprung a leak

Post by shooter » Mon Mar 02, 2009 12:18 pm

My Fisher & Paykel HC432 mask has started leaking from the junction of the silicone seal and the hard plastic shell down in the corners of the chin area.
The seal to my face is good. I don't see any damage there but the seal doesn't appear to "snap" into place and stay there. I slips out easily and leaks.

Any suggestions? I'd glue it in if I could think of something that would stick to silicone rubber.

RTV will hold it but are you sure it's just not seated in that groove? Or have you used something to clean it that eats the silicone? Have another seal on hand?

When putting the mask on, be sure to place chin IN first then bring up to face.

I have not used anything but soap to clean it. It goes into the groove, It just doesn't stay there. Don't have another seal on hand. Might have to get one.

Mack's might be a temp/semi-perm fix. It will stick to silicone...but doesn't harden.
