nasal mask/mouth breather/surgical mask
Hello-do you think that a surgical mask would work in liue of poli-dent to prevent air loss from my mouth? I am trying my nasal mask again but breathe through my mouth.

The equipment you listed in your profile, says you have a Quattro FF mask. Why would you use a nasal pillow mask instead? Especially if you mouth breath? Just curious....

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Maybe if you leave it in the plastic bag it would work, but if you cover your mouth and nose at the same time, you die. Jim

I probably know less about this stuff than anyone on here. The person said they were using dental strips. I just wondered why they prefer that over using their full face mask...By the way-I had a Comfort select-and a Swift Light Nasal Pillow-so I do know that much about it...Debjax wrote:Awww, c'mon...there are nasal masks that do not have pillows....Sleepy Boy wrote:The equipment you listed in your profile, says you have a Quattro FF mask. Hello-my mask was a regular nasal mask versus nasal pillows and was so much comfortable than the FF mask until I started mouth breathing

Re: nasal mask/mouth breather/surgical mask
But my mouth and nose are both covered with the FF mask and if I used the nasal mask with a surgical mask over my mouth, I'm not prevening my ability to breath through my nose, I am breathing through my nose via the mask. I am missing somethingGoofproof wrote:Maybe if you leave it in the plastic bag it would work, but if you cover your mouth and nose at the same time, you die. Jim

You are absolutely right!! I spoke to a MD after my post who reminded me that they are porous but do you think that would be enough air going through to interfere with txt? I actually used the poligrip one night but am not quite sure how that worked. i don't think the tape would work as my skin is so oily.GumbyCT wrote:I wonder what you mean buy surgical mask? One a surgical mask is porous, (unless you have it sealed in a plastic bag), and they cover the nose and mouth at the same time. See Note on breathing with the bag attached.
My suggestion would use the FF mask or seal your mouth, those are the only two real options that work 100%. Jim

Hi Jim. After I thought more about your post I realized that yes the mask does cover your nose and mouth but in my mind I only invisioned it covering my mouth because that is what I was thinking I would do. Sorry if I confused you I did use the polident a second night and it worked great. Now everyone in my house has to just learn to translate "hmm, hmmmm, hmmmm" whne I am trying to talk to themGoofproof wrote:One a surgical mask is porous, (unless you have it sealed in a plastic bag), and they cover the nose and mouth at the same time.
