ResMed download question
ResMed download question
When you insert the card to download the ResMed data, does it delete the information from the machine? I don't want to clear the data before the doc can read it later this month.

Re: ResMed download question
You're asking about ResMed, but the machine you have listed is not ResMed. For ResMed, when you download data to the card, it does NOT remove data from the machine.

Re: ResMed download question
You are correct. I have a RemStar M Series Pro, Hubby has a ResMed Elite II, and I just got the sofware to read his data today.Bluebonnet_Gal wrote:You're asking about ResMed, but the machine you have listed is not ResMed. Re: ResMed download question
No, it just copies it to the ResScan card. The flow generator retains summary data for the previous 360 days of use, with the most recent 180 days of that being available through the ResScan card.Debjax wrote:When you insert the card to download the ResMed data, does it delete the information from the machine?
However, you should note that only the 5 most recent days of detailed data are retained in the flow generator, so if you want to track detailed data in your own copy of ResScan software, you need to be downloading it regularly.
Cheers,
Bill

Re: ResMed download question
Hi debjax.
I just downloaded my data from my ResMed for the first time this morning. When I plugged the card in the reader it recognized it after a few seconds. Then when the data was transferred to the data card the display read that it was finished. I assume it clears itself at that point. I don't think you have to clear anything. Maybe that will help when you have to get the data for your husband's machine.

Re: ResMed download question
I just want to make sure the data is there when we go to the doctor so he can have it in his records. I've downloaded it, but there's no detailed data before Friday (when the doc downloaded it) so I suspect that the detailed data gets deleted in the machine when the data is downloaded. But if it only keeps a week of detailed anyway, no problem, I'll just take him the detailed reports from between visits.emarcy54 wrote:Hi debjax.

Now I'm looking at hubby's reports and I'm not happy....his AHI is way up and he's having too many apneas for my comfort level...going to try him on a differnet mask tonight and if it doesn't get better, I'll try him on a nasal mask. If THAT doesn't work, doc's getting a call....

As Bill said the data stays on the Resmed card
Each night the machine adds another nights detail & if there is already 5 nights of detailed data on the card, the oldest night gets bumped off. That night then gets added to the summary data on the card.
ResScan software doesn't wipe any data off the card, it just takes a copy into its database. If you did wipe the card clean, the S8 will reload all the data back again the moment you put the card into the machine (& it is powered on).
Respironics software does normally wipe the card clean.

Re: ResMed download question
Well, the doctor read the data on Friday using the same card and when I read it tonight, it shows 3 nights of detailed data starting Friday night...summary data only before that.dsm wrote:As Bill said the data stays on the Resmed card

The Respironics software can be set to default to leave the data on the card....mine is set that way. To clear the card I would have to select the option to do so.

Re: ResMed download question
How do you read the data? Mine just transferred to the card but no information was visible to me on the screen. Once I downloaded it I had to send it to the sleep lab who will prepare a report for my sleep doc.

Re: ResMed download question
The Rescan software needs to to be told how much detailed data you want to download.Debjax wrote:Well, the doctor read the data on Friday using the same card and when I read it tonight, it shows 3 nights of detailed data starting Friday night...summary data only before that.
There are several selections on the Select Data Type To Download dialog box, some of which don't apply to a ResScan card, but you will need to select the 5 day option for the most recent detailed data session(s) setting, if you want the maximum 5 days of data that may be on the ResScan card to be transferred from the ResSCan card to your ResScan software.
Cheers,
Bill
Re: ResMed download question
If a pressure change is made, the previous data should be erased or the data averages will be skewed. I'm not sure if the DME supplier can Erase Data via the data card, i.e. if a pressure change is warranted the DME can make the changes on the data card and instruct you to insert the card to the Elite and the instructions to change the pressure settings will be read by the Elite and changes made. I'm not sure if that includes the Erase Data function as well.
