This pretty little girl is certainly looking grown up, since we first met her, as well as looking very healthy and happy, as any 4 year old should!

Thanks for the update!

Brazilian

Many thanks for the update. She is our little angel.

I had sent a couple of emails to Claudia - got the acknowledgment but not a reply. That was a couple of months ago. I hope all is well with Claudia.

I know many of us think about Laryssa & hope she is doing well. Your update is such good news.

Yes, I see them fine.

I don't know why they don't come up for you. Anyone else?

Bummer !!!

This has happened before & I suspect it has to do with locations (I am in Australia).

Where is my little angel ???

(I know, it is just a matter of internet international incompatibility & we will work it out)

Thanks

Boy is it great to see Laryssa looking so happy and healthy!

Thanks so much for the update, Brazilian!

P.S. DSM, I was thinking last time it had to do with either corrupted cache or security settings. Wonder if you might have better luck with a different browser.

Just saw this post for the first time...Have there ever been pictures of her actually wearing the CPAP equipment?

Thanks for the update, Brazilian. Laryssa looks as healthy as we would have wished her to look!
It's wonderful to hear her mother in now capable of caring for her.

I can see the photos fine on from my part of the globe, DSM.

Lsat, you need to start at page 1 of this thread and read every post to really understand how we all feel about Laryssa. Page 29 of this thread has some more pics, one with her holding the mask and one of her sleeping with the mask on. There are more pix somewhere, but don't have time to look for them now.

Wow.

I knew this forum had some nice folks - I've only been here a week and you all have been so helpful and let me know I'm not alone - but this blows my mind.

I'm low on funds at the moment, but I make all sorts of crafty stuff. It doesn't really ever get cold enough, from what I can tell, for things like scarves but I'll think of something.

This thread just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Look at how she has grown!! Beautiful child and beautiful people! I stumbled onto this thread early during my treatment and it just warmed my heart to see a community of strangers helping out a child in a foreign land.

In the ages of internet scams it's so refreshing to see a heartfelt real story out there.

Bless your hearts everyone.

Yes. She's a bit younger than these show her, but there are a few "masked" pics on dsm's site here:

Thanks for posting that - I had a link to that set on my new server but the data was messed up as I had moved much of it to this new server & doing that altered some names (upper case to lowercase) which stopped the links working. I had forgotten it was still on the old server too.

Here is another link off the old server that has a delightful video clip of Laryssa.

http://www.internetage.com/laryssa/vide ... 080506.wmv

I have several more of the earlier pics that I will bundle into a web page. They are mostly very small pics.

DSM

Just as a reminder, Laryssa spent her first years of life in a hospital due to her respiratory problems.

A social worker called Claudia would visit the children's wards & dress up in a clown outfit. Claudia was known as Dra Cacau (sort of like Dr Chocolate or something close in meaning ). Claudia can be seen in her normal attire plus the Dra Cacau outfit in various photos.

The pics linked to in the above posts above show some glimpses of that early period. It was with the help of the cpap machine paid for by 'Banned' that Laryssa was able to eventually go home with some safety.

When Laryssa 1st went home she was terrified of the chickens in the yard as she had never seen anything like them before. In fact there was so much she had never experienced that we mostly take for granted.

It is a delightful story.
