Ladies what FFM do you use??

Post by skittles » Thu Feb 05, 2009 9:57 am

I am curently using the F&P 431 in small - I love the FFM mask because I do not have to tape and worry about mouth leaks, however over the past week I seem to be getting more leaks and cannot understand why.
I have tightened the mask, but it wakes me up leaking and "farting" (I hate that word), and what is the sense of wearing a mask to help you sleep if it keeps waking you up??

I would like to try another mask just to see if they fit any better. Any favorites out there??

Thanks

I'm a small guy and most of the FFM don't fit me because they are too big. The xtra small quattro is definitely much smaller than FP432. I think the FP431 is essentially the same mask minus the foam insert. YMMV, of course.

I love the Zzz mask! I think mine is currently a medium and I'm probably going to buy a small soon because my face is getting thinner and I'm noticing more leaks lately.
Have you always wanted to try the Liberty? Test drive it here!

Mines a small/shallow Ultra Mirage and after a few trials I have really good luck with it. It's small, it seals nicely and I can keep the headgear loose.

The only problem I have with it is the eye leaks. I use the Macks putty and just stick a little on the mask near the corner of my eyes and Im good to go.

Also, my DME suggested wearing it lower on my nose and when I do that it does minimize the eye leaks. I have the Hybrid but cant get the leaks under control. Im going to try the Liberty next and then a ff from F&P.

I have the Quattro small, may go a size down if I keep using a FFM. I'd rather use the nose mask, but need to get the mouth under control first. Used the Quattro last night, haven't had time to check data for leak information....

Thanks for the feedback -- I am "watching" a Mirage FFM on cpapauction - figured if I did not like it, I can always put it back

I like the nasal masks better, too, but grew tired of having to tape my mouth shut - too much trouble - now I can just "let it all hang out"

Quattro size small. Sometimes I forget I have it on.

Skittles, how old is your seal? I use the 432 and I have found that I need to replace my seal once a month...something to do with the interaction of my skin and the silicon, even though I clean the seal and my face daily. Fortunately, my insurance will allow one seal per month.

I've also been using the Remzzzs cloth liners for a week and a half. They help keep my eye and under-the-chin leaks from happening as much. They're pricey if you use them as directed - one per night. But I've found I can use one for 4 nights before they get too stretched out and curly. I'm also going to try washing them in hot water to see if they'll tighten up enough to use some more. I hope that by keeping my skin and the seal apart, I won't have to replace the seal as often.... Their website is http://www.remzzzs.com.

Hang in there!
